The Sierra Nevada del Cocuy is a National Park and a set of highlands within the Cordillera Oriental mountain range in the Andes Mountains of Colombia. The Sierra Nevada Del Cocuy, about 8 hours from Bogota, has over 20 snow capped peaks and some forty lagoons. Temperatures oscillate in the lower part at around 23º C and go down to 3º C in the snow covered peaks.

The resort is located at an altitude of 1856 m above sea level and attracts visitors from all over the world who want to beat the snow by skiing, bobsledding or trekking. The city hosted Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. Also, it was the host city for 1934, 1974 and 2003 Alpine Skiing World Championships.

Malyovitsa is a small resort 40 kilometers away from Borovets. Malyovitsa is a peak and ski resort in the northwestern part of the Rila Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria. The Rila Monastery is situated at its southern foot, and Malyovitsa Ski Centre — with two downhill tracks and two ski drags — is to the north. The Malyovitsa resort is situated at the foot of the peak.

Lutsen Mountains Resort is a fuzzy dream, where skiers shouted unseen from the fog and snowboarders edged figures in low contrast falling from the sky. The resort is overlooking Lake Superior and has a gray skies, soft snow, quiet woods and winter streams. Lutsen is the largest ski resort in Minnesota.
