Along Chile’s west or Pacific coast, the fjords are as deep and dramatic as their northern counterparts, but with the addition of near total isolation, ice-blue icebergs, and only a handful of native people. The World Heritage Purnululu National Park is situated between the Western Australian towns of Kununurra and Halls Creek. The park comprises a 593,000 acre of beehive-shaped karst mountains that rear up to 300 m. The flat land that is home to these eroded sandstone is located at another 300 m above the sea level. Matanuska Glacier is 100 miles far away from Anchorage, Alaska, at valley emerged as Mat-Su, which encompasses about 24,000 square miles of wilderness. The only sound there is an occasional rush of cool wind sweeping down from the towering Chugach Mountains. The temperature in Matanuska Glacier soaring to 75 degrees, and you walking on ice.
