In the competition to design the area around Warsaw’s National Stadium winner is consortium of JEMS Architekci & Dawos Studios. It’s one of the biggest sport infrastructure investments in Poland. The new stadium will have a seating capacity of 73,000 and underground parking for 1,700 cars.  The scheme - which covers nearly 40-ha of the Praga Poludnie district - involves the construction of a promenade, a plaza, exhibition center, catering and service facilities, a public transport hub (for rail, metro and tram networks), a shopping mall, a 5-star hotel, a sports hall and 160m tall office building, which is to stand on the side of the exiting station. Construction of the stadium started in October 2008, however, will not be ready in time for the Euro 2012 Football Championships.
