The Principality of Liechtenstein is situated in the center of
Europe, on the east bank of the Rhine River, bordered by
Switzerland to its west and by
Austria to its east. It is one of the smallest countries in the world. Liechtenstein is a country known for its winter sports, thanks to a lucky combination of mountainous terrain, frequent snow, and a surprisingly mild climate for such an alpine location.
