Hoover Dam, located on the Colorado River, on the borders of Nevada and Arizona, has a length of 1,244 feet and a height of 726 feet. Hoover Dam was for many years the largest dam in the world. It is now one of the most interesting attractions in the west and a major tourist attraction. Hoover Dam is 30 miles from Las Vegas. It is a popular day trip.
