Located near yet little known attractions of the Lake Powell area, Arizona, Antelope Canyon is one of the most breathtaking places on earth. It is also known as a “slot canyon” or “Corkscrew Canyon” and has been described as the most photogenic in the world.

Antelope Canyon is probably 60 feet deep and 2 feet across at the top. The water and wind eroded the sandstone forming this majestic and narrow defiles over millions years ago.

The colors are rich in the morning and afternoon, and the famous light beams occur mid-day during the April to September.

Pitcher Inn, Vermont- Luxury and comfort

Published by iv in Eating, North America, Relaxing, Skiing, Spa, Swimming, United States of America, Walking

The Pitcher Inn which was built in the 1700’s is located in the picturesque village of Warren, Vermont. The loggers who frequented the rustic place in the early times would not recognize its reincarnation.

The Pitcher Inn is a delightful 11-room and suite inn located in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, at the foot of Sugarbush Resort. The Trout Room has tree trunks for bedposts, a giant trout on the wall, and your own fly-fishing gear, while the Ski Room has furniture made from wooden skis. But you can’t argue with the fireplaces, heated bathroom floors, whirlpool tubs, or Wi-Fi access in nearly every room. The Mountain Room includes a sleeping area that takes the form of a fire tower and contains a 360-degree diorama of the Green Mountains and a sitting area that offers a ceiling of snowshoes, walls of Vermont stone and floorboards of old-growth wood.

The restaurant located on the main floor of The Pitcher Inn seats forty, and features a full breakfast and refined dinner menu. The food at the Inn is just as extraordinary as the accommodations. The Chef prepares seasonally inspired cuisine, emphasizing healthy cooking techniques, and utilizing organic, locally grown foods.
Spa services at The Pitcher Inn are provided by the Alta Spa, an Aveda concept day spa with a full range of treatments.
In winter, head to nearby Sugarbush or Mad River Glen for challenging glade skiing. And for an even greater adrenaline jolt, ride the rocket sled, a strap-in toboggan invented by Sellers, down the closed-in-winter Lincoln Gap Road.

Everybody Goes To Hollywood

Published by misha in Events, Museums, North America, Photos, Restaurants, Sightseeings, Travel Stories, United States of America

Hollywood is a magical district in Los Angeles, California. There are several smaller airports near Hollywood, including ones in Long Beach, Burbank and Ontario, that are used by low-cost airlines including JetBlue and Southwest.

Hollywood is one of those spots that live up to its stereotypes, right down to the sign in the hills. But with minimal effort, it can offer a whole lot more. And it is hard not to be at least momentarily tickled or merely confused as one strides atop the Hollwyood Walk of Fame, where the city honors its stars.

It’s good to visit ArcLight Cinema, which has one of the best projection and sound systems in the country, including extremly comfortable chairs. Catch the latest popcorn flick, obscure retrospective or independent picture with every serious cinema buff in town. ArcLight Cinema also has a trendy bar and restaurant.

For sightseeing-seekers there’s Runyon Canyon is only two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, and offers great views of Hollywood and far beyond. The 130-acre Runyon Canon offers steep, invigorating hikes. The area is popular with dog owners, including celebrities, who take advantage of the leash-free rule.
