Three days of destination cruising and racing follows before the main three-day regatta properly gets underway on the Friday. Barbados is the most eastern island in the
Caribbean, and is a tiny dot on most world maps with an area of 483 km.
Barbados has a population of about 260,000 – which is quite high considering its size. It is circled by fine beaches and narrow coastal plains. Barbados has much to offer its visitors in terms of
water sports and
beach activities. The
windsurfing world championships have been held here several times. Barbados is also a
surfing mecca for the Caribbean.
