Hida Folk Village, Japan

Takayama-Hida Folk Village
“Hida Folk Village” is an open air museum and site area is an approximately 99,000 sq. m. It exhibits about 30 typical farmhouses and buildings, including a few “gassho-zukuri” traditional Japanese homes built with steeply pitched thatched roofs, from the Hida region, the mountainous district of Gifu Prefecture around Takayama. About 30 old private houses with sloped- and thatched-roof houses which bore the heavy snowfall were reconstructed in the village. This village was created by moving old folk and farming homes from various villages and the nearby Shirakawa-Go region to one particular place.

Whether you want to see the world’s most unusual exhibits, learn about the world’s most intriguing people, or see them all face to face, Branson’s famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not  is the place for you! The building itself is one of the most photographed buildings in the world. Why? Because it is cracked. It was built this way to represent the strongest earthquake in the United States, which occurred in 1812 here in Missouri. Inside, you will find displays of the weird and unusual findings of Robert Ripley, who scoured the world for strange places, people and events. This is the one place in the world that you have to see to believe and sometimes still you don’t believe it. Go and see for yourself and dare to be a “believer”.

Habitat 67, Montreal

Habitat 67 is a housing complex and familiar landmark located in Montreal, Canada. The complex was built as part of Expo’67 - one of the world’s largest universal expositions. Its striking design was created by architect Moshe Safdie based on his master’s thesis at McGill University. The project was designed to create affordable housing with close but private quarters, each equipped with a garden. The complex was originally meant to be vastly larger. It also failed in its goal of being affordable as the building is today quite elite.

The business Bay of Dubai Holdings - Ra’s al-Khor

After ambitious initiatives such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai International Financial Center, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai is creating another multi-billion dollar project to add to its portfolio of extraordinary developments. Dubai Business Bay set to be the biggest and best business hub in the Middle East, it is going to be the financial center of Dubai’s growing economy. Business Bay will be a free zone business, commercial and residential district that will cover an area of 64 million square feet. It will be located next to Burj Dubai and extend along a new creek from the edge of Dubai Creek (Ras Al Khor), all the way to Dubai’s coast.

Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and is the capital of the Western Cape Province, as well as being the legislative capital of South Africa (the Houses of Parliament are here). It is located in the south-west corner of the country near the Cape of Good Hope, and is the most southern city in Africa. It is a stone’s throw from South Africa’s world-famous Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. Cape Town is also known as the Mother City in South Africa.

The Einstein Tower, Potsdam

The “Einsteinturm” in Potsdam, Germany, is the first important building designed by the famous architect Erich Mendelsohn. It was planned and built in the years 1919 to 1924, the main part was finished in 1921. The inner part of the tower houses a solar observatory. It is now part of Potsdam Science Park and continues to serve as a center of astronomical research. The Tower in Potsdam, near Berlin is considered a key Expressionist building - its curved, organic forms depart from all traditional expectations of what a tower should look like.
