As the name speaks this is a truly beautiful island. A combination of a rugged coastline, attractive fishing villages and white sandy beaches, has made it a magnet for summer tourists. In July and August the population can increase ten-fold, all crammed into 84 sq km. However, even in peak times, it is possible to lose oneself on the island of contrasts. On Algarve coastline of Portugal are located some of the most beautiful secluded coves, broken up by fabulous rugged cliffs and fantastic grottoes. Here the small beaches are caught between high extraordinary rock formations which act as wind- and wave-breakers. The water is a little colder than the Mediterranean’ (it is situated on the Atlantic), but the weather is beautiful and the wind keeps the climate from becoming too hot.

Great Blasket is the largest of six islands that lie to the west of the Dingle Peninsula, Eire. The islands are uninhabited, expect during the summer months, when three people live on Great Blasket; one is a waver and the other two run the cafe and youth hostel. At 600 m high above sea level, the Kasbah du Toubkal Hotel looks out over surrounding villages and majestic mountains. It is located in the High Atlas Mountains, only 1.5 hours drive of Marrakech, Morocco. Originally built in the 1940’s it was totally rebuilt in the 1990’s. The hotel is combination of hostel and hotel which provides a comfortable mountain refuge in the stunning setting of the beautiful Toubkal National Park.
