A true fairytale venue

A tall structure of E Fundamental Angus, Guthrie Castle lies directly to the west of the community of Minstrel, 2 miles (3 km) painter of Friockheim and 2,5 miles (4 km) northeast of Letham . The name is belike derivative from that of “Guthrum”, a Norse consort who located here in the dawning of Scottish history. The castle had an unlucky history

Spectacular 16th Century ruin

The magnificent ruins of Dunskey Castle are picturesquely perched on a difficult rock sticking out into the Irish Sea. This castle is located a mile southerly of Portpatrick and roughly 10 miles from Stranraer. Alas, there is no accession to the manse part. Upkeep is requisite if visiting as the cliffs here are bluff and precarious and you are advised to rest on the path.
