A cross between an Egyptian temple and a Zen garden

 

The Nomadic Museum is a temporary structure used to house the “Ashes and Snow” photography and film exhibition by Gregory Colbert which travels the world photographing encounters between humans and large animals. Designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and engineers Buro Happold, the museum is made entirely from reusable materials. Actually this 45,000-square-foot mobile museum was designed to be disassembled and reconfigured to house the traveling exhibit.

Don’t miss this superb private collection of Islamic art

The Tareq Rajab Museum or Museum of Islamic Calligraphy is located at the main city area of Kuwait in one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. The Museum is the private collection of the Rajab family – Kuwait’s first minister of antiquities and his British wife. The collection was started in the early 1950s and after long tours of traveling and collecting articles, in 1980 they finally were able to open a museum for the public. The museum has the collection of above thirty thousand items, of which about ten thousand are permanently on for public display.

One of the oldest museums in the world

The Kolkata Indian Museum is considered as the largest museum in India. Established on 2 February, 1814 at the cradle of the Asiatic Society Building, it is the earliest museum in the Asia Pacific region. Founded by Dr Nathaniel Wallich (a botanist from Denmark), the museum is included as an Institute of national importance in the seventh schedule of the Constitution of India (It is an independent institution funded by the Government of India). Placed in Italian architectural style building designed by Walter B Grawille, the Indian Museum has over 60 galleries and is divided into six main sectors.

A Major Relic Of The Mauryan Architecture In India

Amaravati is a dinky town situated in the Guntur Govern of Andhra Pradesh, on the embankment of River Krishna. The past assets of Satavahana royalty, it came low the impact of Religion through the Kushanas of Mathura. One of the great attractions of Amravati consists of the relic of a 2000-year-old Buddhistic conclusion, along with the zealous Religionist stupa. Exclusive half its sculptures survived the careless dig of localised landowners, riches seekers, and inexpert archaeologists, and are now broken between museums of Author, Province, and Amaravati. Amaravati is around 65 kms from the municipality of Vijayawada and is visited by hundreds of tourists and pilgrims from all parts of the country.

The repository of a sacred Buddhist relic


The Sri Dalada Maligawa or Tooth Temple is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy – one of the largest cities in Sri Lanka. This temple is one of the most holy sites on the island in the same vein that the Basilica of Saint Peter of Vatican is to the Roman Catholic Church. Built between the years 1687 and 1707, the temple reputed to contain an actual tooth of the Buddha on his 2nd visit to Sri Lanka over 2000 years ago.
