Robben Island, South Africa

The famous Robben Island, whose prison was once home to former South African president Nelson Mandela as well as many other black political freedom fighters, is now a World Heritage Site and provides views across the bay with Table Mountain as its backdrop. A journey to the island is an amazing experience offers a glimpse into the life and times of the apartheid era. The island was also used as a leper colony and animal quarantine station. The island is nearby Whale Rock and have been the nemesis of many a ship and its crew. The surf of the open Atlantic Ocean thunders continuously at its margins and any vessel wrecked on the reefs offshore is soon beaten to pieces and disappears.

Swaziland officially the Kingdom of Swaziland, and sometimes called Ngwane or Swatini, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. Swaziland is a small country, no more than 200 km north to south and 130 km east to west. The western half is mountainous, descending to a lowveld region to the east. Richtersveld, South Africa

The Richtersveld is a mountainous desert landscape dotted by rugged kloofs and high mountains, situated in South Africa’s Northern Cape province. The whole area is a World Heritage Site and is characterized with changing scenery from flat sandy plains, to craggy sharp mountains of volcanic rock and the lushness of the Orange River, which forms the border with neighbouring Namibia. Located in South Africa’s northern Namaqualand, this arid area represents a harsh landscape where water is a great scarcity and only the hardiest of lifeforms survive. Despite this, the Richtersveld is regarded as the only Arid Biodiversity Hotspot on Earth, with an astonishing variety of plant, bird and animal life.

Øyafestivalen

The Øya festival is one of the biggest festivals in Norway. It is usually happened in August on the grounds of Middelalderparken (the Medieval Park). The audience reaches about 60.000 people for 4 days and countless others during lots of the preceding club parties and the club night. Each year more than 80 bands played in the park.
