Postojna Cave system

In Slovenia there are over 7,500 explored Karsts caves, but the largest and most famous of the world is the Postojna Cave system. It was created by nature for over 2 million years and it is registered on list of the world’s natural and cultural heritage of UNESCO. Drop by drop, the water formatted its magnificent stalactites and stalagmites in breathtaking shapes. It is located only 50 km form Ljubljana (Slovenia capital) and is visited by thousands of tourists each year.

Predjamski Castle

One of the most visited castles in Slovenia is the Predjamski Castle. The castle was integrated into a natural rock arch high in mountain. Later was reformed by family Luegg, also called Predjama knights. Erazem, who was the owner of the castle in 15th century, and a renowned robber, later joined king Matthias Corvinus, for which the current Emperor ordered Gasper Ravbar to assassinate him. After a long siege of the castle, Erazem was finally killed in 1483 by being tricked. The castle has fallen under Oberburg and Purgstall power.

Europian winter challenge – Maribor

Slovenia has dozens of world class ski resort. Slovenian ski centers and winter resorts attract Alpine and tour skiers, cross-country skiers, borders, sledgers. The biggest skiing center is Maribor, which in an area 270 m above sea level beside the Drava River. Many tourists choose to spend their winter holidays on the snow, more than 40 km of ski tracks offers different winter adventures with all grades of difficulty at an altitude of 325 m to 1327 m above sea level.

Lake Bled – one of the most beautiful corners of Europe

Lake Bled is one of Slovenia’s most popular tourist area, next to the town of Bled. The lake was formed when the Bohinj glacier receded. It is 2120 m long, 1380 m wide and up to 30.6 m deep. Nowhere in the world is there a more lovely place, than this paradise and its surroundings. The island in the middle of Lake Bled is without doubt one of the premier attractions of the area, which surprises and charms every visitor. Surrounded by mountains and forests, today Bled is a modern holiday resort with many hotels, private accommodation facilities, a camp site, wellness centers, and a golf course.

Ljubljana – the old meets the new

Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a dynamic Central European city lying at an altitude of 298 m above sea level in a broad basin between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. A quaint, little, old town, a bustling city center, a medieval castle, and a metropolitan riverside cafe culture are just a small example of the things that give the city it’s beauty. Ljubljana is certainly a city with a high quality of life. It is a city of greenery, its very center occupied by parks and forests. The unique Karst region, the Adriatic coast, the mountains, the hilly wine-growing regions, the spas, and many historic towns are all within a two-hour drive.

KRK – largest island of the Adriatic Sea

KRK is the largest Croatian island of the Adriatic Sea with area 409 sq km and population 16,402. In town KRK live almost 6000 people. Located rather near the mainland and has been connected to it via a 1,430 meter two-arch concrete bridge since 1980, one of the longest concrete bridges in the world. KRK is a popular tourist destination, because of the situation and proximity to Slovenia, Germany, Austria and Italy.
