The colonial town of Parati is one of our favourite towns in Brazil: full of history and stunningly preserved, with uneven cobbled streets, colourfully painted houses, pretty churches and a rich artistic vibe. Casa Turquesa is a charming two-storey 18th century historic house located in the colonial centre of Paraty, half way in between Rio and Sao Paolo. Casa Turquesa, opened in May 2008, expresses owner Tete Etrusco’s eye for detail in its architecture, decorations and service.

Paraty is a UNESCO designated fishing village located in the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. The architecture of this village is a well preserved example of the colonial Portuguese period. Paraty is a very popular tourist destination because of its historic qualities, excellent restaurants and pousadas, and access to many pristine islands off its coast.
The cultural attractions in Paraty also include a cultural center with nice historic exhibitions, museums, a theatre, as well as a myriad of annual cultural and party events and festivals in Paraty.

Paraty is located in one of the biggest bays of the country, Ilha Grande, Brazil,with 1125Km2. It is divided into two parts – Paraty Bay and Angra dos Reis. The Paraty coast is well cut .With an extension of 180 Km, it has several inlets, peninsulas and islands, impeding the sea streams circulation. The medium amplitude of tides is 2 meters.

There is an unwritten low that the most beautiful places are awkward to get to – the farther away, the more isolated, the better. Gite D’Indaiatiba is just such a place. Situated in rain forest between Sao Paulo and Rio, it is hidden in a dense vegetation at the end of a rocky, precarious dirt track 7 miles (12 km) away from the beachside of Paraty.

A stunning seventeenth-century colonial harbor town on Brazil‘s Costa Verde, Paraty is a perfectly preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. Paraty meaning ”river of fish” in the Tupi language, was founded in 1667.
