The Tareq Rajab Museum or Museum of Islamic Calligraphy is located at the main city area of Kuwait in one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. The Museum is the private collection of the Rajab family – Kuwait’s first minister of antiquities and his British wife. The collection was started in the early 1950s and after long tours of traveling and collecting articles, in 1980 they finally were able to open a museum for the public. The museum has the collection of above thirty thousand items, of which about ten thousand are permanently on for public display.

The Kolkata Indian Museum is considered as the largest museum in India. Established on 2 February, 1814 at the cradle of the Asiatic Society Building, it is the earliest museum in the Asia Pacific region. Founded by Dr Nathaniel Wallich (a botanist from Denmark), the museum is included as an Institute of national importance in the seventh schedule of the Constitution of India (It is an independent institution funded by the Government of India). Placed in Italian architectural style building designed by Walter B Grawille, the Indian Museum has over 60 galleries and is divided into six main sectors.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly Prince of Wales Museum of Western India, is one of the most famous museums of India. Founded in the early years of the 20th century by some prominent citizens of Bombay, the Prince of Wales Museum was built to represent the ancient and medieval architectural styles of western India. Boudhanath stupa, a sacred Buddhist shrine, located in a short distance Northeast of Kathmandu is a World Heritage Site. This ancient stupa symbolizing “Nirvana”- the state of no suffering – was built in by. In its honor the festival of lights is celebrated on a full moon night in around February. A five day festival which takes place each year on the fifteenth day of Kartika around the end of celebrated by all Hindus with ritual house-cleaning, lanterns, candles, and fireworks. The Nepali version tends to be more picturesque and less explosive (literally) than those celebrated in India. All houses in the cities and villages are decorated with dozens of lit oil lamps which gives them a glittering appearance at night. The festival is held in honor of the Goddess Laxmi who is the Hindu goddess of wealth and also the wife of the almighty Vishnu. Hindus are joined by Jains, who mark their New Year and Sikhs, during this festival.
