The Tareq Rajab Museum or Museum of Islamic Calligraphy is located at the main city area of Kuwait in one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. The Museum is the private collection of the Rajab family – Kuwait’s first minister of antiquities and his British wife. The collection was started in the early 1950s and after long tours of traveling and collecting articles, in 1980 they finally were able to open a museum for the public. The museum has the collection of above thirty thousand items, of which about ten thousand are permanently on for public display.

“The Sultan of Brunei” became a byword for someone who’s filthy rich. But do we know much about this Sultan apart from the oddfacts theh Michael Jackson or Celine Dion have performed at his birthday parties for the floor wade of one million US Dollars, or that he owns the world’s most garantuan car collection, or maybe that he gave order for Miss America to be “supplied” to him. Even less we know about this miniature coutry, so abundant in oil. The tiny country consists of two mini territories wedged into the Malaysian part of the Island of Borneo. It is actually easily accessible by air, with regular flights from all of Asia, London and Dubai.

ON a wonderful Saturday evening last summer in the Dhoby Ghaut neighborhood of Singapore, a few hundred people — residents and in-the-know tourists — stood or sat in rows of plastic chairs taking swigs of Tiger Beer retrieved from an ice-filled inflatable kid’s pool. The crowd had assembled to see 10 local artists — photographers, a painter, a fashion designer, a filmmaker — present their work, with a white wall standing in for a projector screen. The biannual gathering, named Rojak for the inventive Singaporean-Malaysian salad, is one aspect of a recent effort to raise Singapore’s cultural profile.

The World is again held spellbound by one the world’s greatest discoveries – this time a gigantic cave located in the heart of the Vietnamese jungle. Hang Son Doong (which means “mountain river cave”) was recently discovered by Members of a British expedition. Located near the Laos-Vietnam border, it was created 2-5 million years ago by river water eroding away the limestone underneath the mountain. It’s believed to be almost five times larger than the current record holder – the Deer Cave, Malaysia.

Also known as Masjid Kristal, this mosque is located in Kuala Terengganu. It was built between 2006 and 2008 as part of the RM250 million Taman Tamadun Islam project. Officially opened by the Sultan of Terengganu, the Crystal Mosque is a landmark mosque in Malaysia.
