Estalagem da Ponta do Sol is a lovely hotel, whose deck’s sometimes is used to host European DJs for full moon parties in the summer. The rest of the time it’s a sun deck with expansive views of the old whale roads. It’s that sort of place. The hotel offers 54 rooms with a restaurant, bars and many chillout areas, sits on the cliff top overlooking little Ponta do Sol and the sea. The views are to die for, though visiting architects are more taken with the hotel than the vistas: the marriage of old quinta with modernist annexes is inspired.

In Dubai, space for hotels and beachfront villas is being created on four artificial islands being constructed off the crowded coastline. The first and smallest was completed in 2004 and is shaped like a palm tree. A phase under construction will comprise 264 smaller islands forming a vast map of the world. Altogether, four of these huge new projects are to be crafted out of rock and sand.Once building construction begins, concrete will flow in huge amounts.

This New Year’s Eve has been more special to the Funchal city of the Madeira Island. They has achieved to register a Guinness World Record with its pyrotechnic exhibition, which involved 17 tons of fireworks, caused 660,300 detonations for more than 8 minutes. It makes about 8,000 explosions per minute over an area of 6 km by 2.7 km wide.

Most of us could not witness this spectacular fireworks display, so i watched a video and now i am sharing it with you. Just watch it and enjoy.

This New Year’s Eve has been more special to the Funchal city of the Madeira Island. They has achieved to register a Guinness World Record with its pyrotechnic exhibition, which involved 17 tons of fireworks, caused 660,300 detonations for more than 8 minutes.
