Each year, hundreds of farmers create huge rice field art figures and compositions by using use no ink or dye. Instead, Inakadate residents use different varieties of rice plants that have been carefully arranged in special patterns. The themes are different each year.

It is Nike’s first and largest flagship store in Harajuku, Tokyo. Store’ designer is architect Masamichi Katayama and his team at Wonderwall who used elements from shoes and the brand’s history to create playful treatments. The store is full of amazing styled elements like the sneaker chandelier, “Just Do It”, made of 500 white shoes, waffle iron wall-tiles, a turf track to test the shoes and a sculpture made up of Dunks that look like a giant fossil.

In 2005 architects Shusaku Arakawa + Madeline Gins designed a building of nine apartments known as Reversible Destiny Lofts. These colorful apartments are located in the Mikata area of Tokyo. This creative architecture is structured by many spheres, cylinders and cubes stacked up like bricks and much likes the very popular Nintendo DS game “Brain Age”.
