Today, there’s a spectacular extension to the Denver Art Museum, The Frederic C. Hamilton Building, an addition to the existing museum, designed by the Italian Architect Gio Ponti. The 146,000-square-foot extension, which opened in October 2006, currently houses the Modern and Contemporary art collections as well as the collections of Oceanic and African Art.

Beatrice & Woodsley is the third restaurant from the partners behind Two-Fisted Mario’s and Mario’s Double Daughter’s Salotto. Located in Denver, United States, it is one of the best restaurants in the city, and certainly the most remarkable. Designed by Delk Design, Beatrice & Woodsley is inspired by the history of restaurants providing restoration and relaxation. Contrasted between the funky boutique shops the restaurant expresses Colorado’s sophistication. Designed with a cabin in the woods, the restaurant offers social dining in the tune of “new old-world rustic”.

Echo Mountain Park is perched at 10,500 feet with wraparound views of the frosted Rockies and is the nation’s first winter resort devoted exclusively freaks. Echo is 100 percent terrain park with 50 acres of jumps, rails, boxes, picnic tables, stairs, mailboxes and pipe. Some people could be found on the Echo slopes the energy, aesthetics, acoustics and entire ethos of the place is aimed at kids. However Echo’s owner, Jerry Petitt, said he hadn’t built the park to please everyone. The park is proper for 12- to 29-year-olds. The lift tickets at Echo are priced for teenagers on a lawn-mowing budget.

The best way to learn gravity-defying halfpipe moves would be in the halfpipe. But many skiers and riders try their aerial skills on water ramps, trampolines and diving boards. Since the 1970s, skiers have been bouncing on backyard tramps and launching off ramps into lakes, even piles of hay, to work on their aerial maneuvers. Today off-snow gymnastic-based programs are increasingly being used by skiers and riders. The most up-to-date is the brand-new Woodward at Copper, which sits at the base of the ski area, about 75 miles west of Denver. The 20,000-square-foot facility offers artificial ski ramps, foam pits, trampolines, skate bowls and skate ramps.

The Colorado Avalanche are a professional ice hockey team based in Denver, Colorado. They play in the National Hockey League (NHL). The team started play in 1972 as the Quebec Nordiques of the World Hockey Association. During the seven WHA seasons, the Nordiques won the Avco Cup Championship once, in 1977. Two years later, they entered the NHL, along with the Edmonton Oilers, Hartford Whalers (now the Carolina Hurricanes) and the Winnipeg Jets (now the Phoenix Coyotes). When they’ve found themselves experiencing on-ice success but off-ice financial failure during the lockout shortened 1994-95 NHL season team owner Marcel Aubut asked for a bailout from Quebec’s provincial government. The bailout fell through and Aubut subsequently sold the team to a group of investors in Denver.
