Visit Biras Creek

The archipelago of the British Virgin Islands includes some sixty volcanic isles surging out of the sea with a jagged, rough coastline dotted with pristine white-sand beaches. None is more idyllic than Biras Creek, a low-key hideaway on the northeastern tip of Virgin Gorda. The island, first named the ”Pregnant Virgin” by Christopher Columbus because of its round shape, was rechristened the ”Fat Virgin” when the technical impossibility of its original name dawned on him.

Tongatapu is Tonga‘s main island, and the location of the former British protectorate’s capital, Nuku’alofa. The second city of Mu’a is also there, along with most of the commercial activity and grandiose official residence of the king. Nuku’alofa is full of Victorian buildings, churches, old graveyards, bustling markets and a classic Pacific waterfronts. The British Virgin Islands are where the dreams come true. They are tropical island beach perfection and the most popular cruising area in the Caribbean. Virgin Gorda combines the best features of all of them, packing enormous variety into its 21 sq km. Dramatic mahogany forests crown the volcanic Gorda Peak, the island’s centre and highest point. The Peak is one of the several National Parks on Gorda and its neighboring cays of Fallen Jerusalem, Prickly Pear, and Saba Rock, and its gorgeous offshore waters. The Caribbean’s premier yacht races

This is one of the most popular events on the British Virgin Islands’ social calendar, and is a chance for the whole community to come together in a week of races and entertainment. The event usually kicks off on the Monday evening with a welcome party at Nanny Cay Marina where registration for the Sailing Festival takes place. Three days of destination cruising and racing follows before the main three-day regatta properly gets underway on the Friday. The first BVI Spring Regatta took place in 1972 and remains an integral part of island life.

A group of islands in the eastern part of the Bay of Bengal south of Myanmar. The Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands stretches over a length of more than 700kms from North to south floating in the clear blue waters of Bay of Bengal, Jolly Buoy Island East of the Indian main land and consists of 572 emerald Islands islets and rocks.
