Built in 1999, the “Black Diamond” is a modern extension to the Royal Danish Library which is the largest library in the Nordic countries. The old library dates from 1906 and was designed by architect Hans J. Holm. Located at the waterfront of Copenhagen, this new library building is designed by the Danish architects Schmidt, Hammer and Lassen. Situated just 20 miles from the port town of Haifa and 7 miles from the ancient town of Nazareth, Nahalal is the first Moshav in Israel. In biblical times, Nahalal was a town in the territory of the tribe of Zebulun, the exact site of which is still in dispute. Founded in 1921 by Jewish settlers from Eastern Europe, the Moshav is built on a low and wide hill, approximately 100 m above sea level and is spread on an area of about 9,000 dunams of heavy brown/black soil. Located in the beautiful jesrael Valley in the northern part of Israel, Nahalal is one of the principal centers of the moshav movement, with a population of about 1,300.
