Lake Van is a salt lake – a mysterious inland sea 1,670 m above the sea level in the heart of Anatolian Mountains, Turkey. Nobody can explain the salinity of the water, either the fresh water spring on the island of Akdamar. On this cosy small island, less than 1 sq km in area, there is an incredible monument – the Cathedral Church of the Holly Cross, an extraordinary beautiful example of American architecture. Alpamayo is one of the most conspicuous peaks in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range of the Peruvian Andes in the Ancash region, Peru, South America. Elevation 19,511 ft (5,947 meters). Has a 60 degree almost symmetrical pyramid shape.It is the most beautiful and conspicuous peak ever and has two sharp summits South and North.

Cabo de la Vela is a headland in the Guajira Peninsula in Colombia with an adjacent small fishing village. Facing the Caribbean Sea and Venezuela in the northern most part of South America. The department capital city is Riohacha.

Near San Agustin one finds some of South America’s greatest, and most mysterious, archaeological sites. The remains of a mysterious civilisation are found there. There are eagles, snakes, men with clenched teeth and fists, monkeys, salamanders, women giving birth and men worshipping the sun.

The biggest lake in South America and the highest navigable lake in the world, lies at 3,810 m, its 196 km length spanning the Andean border between Peru and Bolivia. Lake Titicaca is the cradle of Inca civilization and Ilsa del Sol is the Incas’ holiest site. Today most things about lake Lake Titicaca are at odds with the modern, technological and politician world.
