Pienza is a renaissance town near Siena, and it’s one of the beautiful hill top towns of the entire Tuscany. It was built by the order of Pope Enea Silvio Piccolomini in 1558 on top of the medieval castle of Corsignano, which marked the border between the possessions of Siena, Florence and Orvieto. Thanks to its position (in a panoramic position overlooking the Orcia river valley) Pienza was of great importance during the Middle Ages.

On spring and summer Sundays, the Jardin Tino Rossi, a sliver along the Seine, turns into an impromptu dance-a-thon.
