Don’t leak out Go to a Mount Kenya

Kenya is located in the eastern part of Africa. It has an area of about 150,000 square kilometers. It is a very popular tourist destination and also a hot spot for climbing and hiking. In the central highlands a couple of hundred kilometers north of the equator lays Mt. Kenya. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya , and the second-highest in Africa (after Mount Kilimanjaro). The highest peaks of the mountain are Batian (5,199 m), Nelion (5,188 m) and Lenana (4,985 m). Mount Kenya is located in central Kenya, just south of the Ecuador, over 100 miles northeast of Nairobi. The mountain is an extinct (dead) volcano standing alone, which last erupted between 2.6 and 3.1 million years ago. Its slopes include several different bio mes; the lowest parts are dry upland forest, changing to mountain forest of juniper and podocarpus at about 2,000 m, with a belt of bamboo.

What Is Ice Climbing?

Ice climbing is the recreational activity of climbing ice formations such as icefalls, and frozen waterfalls. (Dry-tooling is climbing rock using the tools for ice climbing.) Depending on the slope and texture of the ice, different equipment and techniques can be employed by the climber. For example, on flat ice, almost any good hiking or mountaineering boot will usually suffice. On short, low angled slopes, one can use an ice axe to chop steps.
The first known ice climbing competition was organized in Courmayeur on the Brenva glacier in the year 1912. Maybe later there were some more events around the world and if somebody knows of any pls. send me mail about it.

The “Big Ditch” of Panama

The Panama Canal is the 8th Man made wonder of the world and the focus of many of our travelers on our tour packages. Panama City is home to the second largest international banking center in the world next to Switzerland. Panama canal, canal across the Isthmus of Panama, in Central America, that allows vessels to travel between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The waterway measures 64km, including dredged approach channels at each end. The Panama Canal handles a large volume of world shipping and enables vessels to avoid traveling around South America, reducing their voyages by thousands of miles and many days.

The Galapagos Archipelago – its rich flora and fauna

The Galapagos archipelago is part of Ecuador, a country in northwestern South America. It is situated 800 kilometers west of the Ecuadorian coast and lie directly on the equator. The archipelago encompasses over 50 islands of volcanic origin that are spread out over an area of about 4,500 square kilometers. The volcanic Galapagos platform originated probably not more than 15 million years ago and the oldest island not more than 2.4 million years ago.

If you are in Ecuador definetely go to Church of El Cisne

Seventy kilometers from the city of Loja in the mountains of southern Ecuador is the town of El Cisne, the site of a much venerated Marian shrine. The basilica of El Cisne was built in 1742 and modeled after a similar basilica in Harlungenberg, Germany. In 1594, the inhabitants of the El Cisne region had desired their own religious relic, similar to the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
