The five-storied Patwon ki Haveli is the maximal of its charitable in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. Situated on a contract lane in the principal Jaisalmer city, Patwon ki haveli was constructed by Guman Chand Patwa and his fivesome sons. The havelis are also noted as the ‘residence of brocade merchants’. Also famed as Salim Singh ki haveli of Jaisalmer, this haveli is wainscoted with beautifully bowed roof having exquisitely lapidarian brackets in the change of peacocks. Subdivided into six apartments, the haveli is exquisitely engraved.
This haveli is presently engaged by the governance, which uses it for varied purposes.

Patwon-Ki-Haveli is the largest and most expound haveli in Jaisalmer. It is believed that Patwa was a plushy man and was a renowned trader of his clip. He could give and thusly orderly the thought of disjoint stories for each of his 5 sons. It is believed that at one quantity of time, the haveli had two additional wooden stories, making it as overflowing as the palace of the queen. Rajasthan and in part Jaisalmer is easily known for its colourful civilisation and intricately premeditated marvels of the architecture, which bang won Jaisalmer a identifying site in the whist of tourists from around the class.

The additional important aspects are its gateways and arches.Though the undivided business is made old sandstone, the water gateway of the Patwon Ji ki Haveli is in botanist timber. A endeavor of the haveli is still lived in. Few of the intrinsical walls of the haveli business paintings as recovered as awing mirror process. Isolated from intricately lapidarian pillars, the haveli also has vast corridors and chambers. One of the havelis of the Patwon-ki- Haveli has been rotated into a museum and a shop that has a vast bespeak of unfashionable furnishings and nonfunctional goods. Patwon-ki- Haveli is easily approachable from all parts of Jaisalmer by anaesthetic shipping facilitie.

Today the French champagne company Krug has found one of the best ways to fly in style with the “Krug Is In The Air” champagne balloon tour program. It currently stands as the world’s most expensive hot air balloon ride, with a cost of roughly $77,790 for one flight. Owned by parent company, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennesy, the Krug hot air balloon premium quality design includes a wicker basket, canopy, burners by Camerons of Bristol, and white leather lining by French upholsters Bruno Domeau & Philippe Peres. With past expeditions through the U.S. (Los Angeles, Arizona and Miami), England, Italy, Japan and Hong Kong, the balloon will fly virtually to any location in the world.

Each balloon fight is set up to accommodate intimate groups of up to eight people and comes with exceptional personal butler service, gourmet meals and champagne. Krug partnered with famous food designer, Marc Bretillot, to create a menu that compliments the Krug Grande Cuvee and the Krug balloon experience. Travelers can enjoy dishes such as foie gras creme brulee with sea salt and tomato jam, pickled vegetable rolls with devil fried oysters, bluefin tuna with light sesame creme fraiche, and baked Brie feulliete with cracked black pepper, caramel, and toasted walnuts. Flying with such great style comes at a luxurious cost, but we’re sure that nothing quite compares to floating over panoramic landscapes while sipping some bubbly.

Babylonstoren is a Cape Dutch farm with vineyards and orchards surrounded by the dramatic mountains of the Drakenstein Valley. It has an exceptionally well–preserved werf dating from 1690. A fruit and vegetable garden of botanical diversity supplies a remarkable restaurant. Guests staying at an exclusive farm hotel enjoy access to the entire farm, plus facilities like a spa and gym. The aim is to have guests feel more comfortable, more alive among warm smiles and the simple daily rhythm of the farm.

The farm owns guest suites echo Cape Dutch farm buildings. The style developed in the Cape Colony of the 17th and 18th century: outer walls are whitewashed and decorated with ornate gables and thatched roofs. Interiors are pleasantly cool in summer (due to thick walls) and are heated by open hearths in winter. Babylonstoren consists of a main residence, old cellar, koornhuis (where wheat and hay was stored) and row of service buildings, bell tower, ornate fowl pen and dove cote surrounded by the traditional low whitewashed walls. Some of these have been converted into guest accommodation, while a disused kraal was turned into our restaurant, Babel.

The Babylonstoren garden is at the heart of the farm. It was inspired by the Company Gardens of the Cape, where for centuries ships would replenish with sweet water, vegetables and fruit at the halfway station between Europe and Asia. It also hales back to the mythical garden of Babylon. The garden is divided into fifteen clusters spanning vegetable areas, berries, bees, indigenous plants, ducks and chickens and includes a prickly pear maze. Gravity feeds water into waterways from stream into the garden as it was done for 300 years.

The food leans towards simplicity – but with an edge. Meals are creative though always clear in structure. Vegetables and fruit gathered daily from the garden are often served with their skins on. Helpings are generous and meals may be taken in surprise settings around the farm, depending on the weather and the occasion. The Babylonstoren breakfast features fresh fruit and juices straight from nature, homemade mueslis and thick yoghurts, farm honey, and every day a choice of something delicious and hot, maybe Babylonstoren eggs and local Serrano style ham from the Valley.

A wide range of activities are offered at Babylonstoren, depending on how energetic you want to be. For guests who want to cycle, or gym or jog or swim or hike or merely stroll, to those wishing to pamper their bodies and revive their spirits. Or those wanting to sip wine and read, reclining. Whatever the season, there is always something happening in our garden. Guests are invited to join in the harvesting, pruning, planting or picking of our many fruit, herbs, nuts, spices and vegetables. Walks span over three kilometres in the garden and the gardeners would love to give you a guided tour.

Today there is a strong current of activism and subversion in urban art. Street art become very powerful platform for reaching the public, and frequent themes include adbusting, subvertising and other culture jamming, the abolishment of private property and reclaiming the streets. Wayfaring is proud to presents some of the best street art cities in the world! New York City, Brooklyn: While many street artists have migrated in recent years from Williamsburg to less-trammeled Brooklyn neighborhoods (Bushwick is the latest open-air gallery), swaths of art still adorn the streets and alleys of “Billyburg.” Prime viewing areas include North 6th Street (around Berry Street and Wythe Avenue), Ainslie Street (just east of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway), and Roebling Street—where, as of this writing, a towering radio-controlled giraffe by artist Nick Walker decorates a wall just south of Metropolitan Avenue.

Berlin: In the 20 years since the demolition of the Berlin Wall (whose western face was famously blanketed with graffiti), street artists have been steadily invading the city’s easterly districts. They’ve gotten particularly busy in the neighborhoods of Mitte, Kreuzberg (especially around Falckensteinstrasse and Schlesische Strasse), and Friedrichshain—where the longest-remaining piece of the wall still stands, covered by stencils and spray-painted tags.

Sao Paulo: With a long history of political street art, São Paulo is something of a giant, sprawling outdoor gallery. For guaranteed good browsing, head to the hip neighborhood of Vila Madalena, on the city’s western edge. Here, the famous Beco do Batman (“Batman Alley”) is covered with an ever-changing display of artwork. What to Look For: Works by hometown street-art heroes—like the striking woodcut-style murals of Speto and Nunca and the dreamy, yellow-tinged figure paintings (pictured) of Os Gemeos (twin brothers Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo), whose pieces evoke slightly unsettling children’s-book illustrations.

Melbourne: With its thousands of “laneways” (what we call alleys) and a generally welcoming attitude toward street artists, Melbourne has become a mecca for enthusiasts of stencils, murals, wheatpastes, and poster art. The artistic epicenter is Hosier Lane, in the central business district, where the walls are completely and perennially festooned—but nearby Caledonian Lane is a close second.

Los Angeles: Some of L.A.’s best spotting grounds are in La Brea (just east of Beverly Hills). Pay special attention to the stretch of North La Brea Avenue around Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard; Banksy—easily the world’s most famous street artist—has left his mark here, in several spots just outside the Beverly Cinema.

Fujinomiya Trail has been famous for the starting point (the front entrance) of Mount Fuji, Japan, climbing since ancient times. This is the shortest route to the top, and the trail head itself is at a high altitude. Mountain huts with a high capacity are located at almost equal distance, and some rest places are also available. It is the route that allows you to enjoy comfortable mountain climbing. In the middle of the trail, you can see the crater of the last eruption in the Hoei era (1707), located at the east side of Mt. Fuji.

The altitude of the starting point of Fujinomiya Trail is about 2,400m, the ascent is about 4 hours and 20 minutes and descent is about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Access by Car: Driving to Mt. Fuji is not recommended. The parking lots are almost always full, and traffic regulation is placed at peak seasons. Take the Fuji I.C. (Exit) on Tomei Expressway. Turn Left onto Nishi-Fuji road. Take the Koizumi exit and merge onto Route 139. Turn Right onto Fujisan Sky Line (Route 180).
The Bryanston Organic Natural Market is Johannesburg‘s original outdoor market. If you have the chance to visit it, you will enter an environment where the emphasis is on quality hand crafted goods, unique art and photography, clothing made from natural fibres, a deli filled with rich, wholesome foods and, of course, fresh organic and naturally grown produce.

You will bump into a wonderful and friendly ambience in their eateries – the Photosynthesis Tea Garden, Cami’s Pancakes, The Coffee Bean Gelateria, Bettina’s Coffee Shop and the Pizza Place. You can relax and listen to live music while eating delicious, freshly prepared cakes and muffins, light meals, Ethiopian or Italian coffee and herb teas. Over the last thirty-three years they have grown and changed but the market remains committed to the ideals of wholeness and freshness; of ensuring that we pass on a healthy world to our children.

It was back in 1976 that motorists on Bryanston Drive in northern Johannesburg first noticed strange happenings at the Michael Mount Waldorf School. Every Thursday morning, a group of women garbed in long frocks and straw hats gathered around several bakkies and cars with open boots. Intrigued, a few of the drivers stopped and became the first customers of the modern movement towards healthy living! Word soon spread that the ladies were selling farm fresh vegetables, organically grown without artificial fertilizers or pesticides and from these humble beginnings South Africa’s first and best open air market began.

Today the Bryanston Organic & Natural Market is a leading light in the organic movement. The market continues to promote products and activities that aid the healing of the earth and its people. They provide an holistic, supportive environment for organic farmers, artists, crafters and musicians to earn a living and express their talents.

Lesotho (le-soo-too) officially the Kingdom of Lesotho, is a landlocked country surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. The country is called Southern Africa’s ‘kingdom in the sky’ for good reason. This stunningly beautiful, mountainous country is nestled island-like in the middle of South Africa and it is a fascinating travel detour from its larger neighbour. The country offers superb mountain scenery, a proud traditional people, endless hiking trails, and the chance to explore remote areas on Basotho ponies.

The flatland areas (all of which are still above 1000m) offer some craft shopping and dinosaur footsteps, while the mountainous parts in the northeast and centre of the country include towering peaks (over 3000m) and verdant valleys. Escape the rest of the world in Eastern Lesotho’s remote Sehlabathebe National Park, or hang out in the pleasant capital Maseru, where a slow pace and friendly locals ensure a memorable stay.

Because of its altitude, Lesotho remains cooler throughout the year than other regions at the same latitude. Most of the rain falls as summer thunderstorms. Maseru and surrounding lowlands often reach 30 degrees Celsius during the summer. Winters can be cold with the lowlands getting down to ?7 degrees Celsius. Snow is common in the highlands between May and September; the higher peaks can experience snowfalls year-round.

Lesotho came into being during the early 19th century, when both the difaqane (forced migration) and Boer incursions into the hinterlands were at their height. Under the leadership of the legendary king Moshoeshoe the Great, the Basotho people sought sanctuary and strategic advantage amid the forbidding terrain of the Drakensberg and Maluti Ranges. The small nation they forged continues to be an intriguing anomaly in a sea of modernity. Getting there is easy – ordinary hire cars will get you most places; public transport is extensive, albeit slow. Hiking or pony trekking from village to village are the best ways of exploring.

Drakensberg Mountains spread onto immense valleys into which you descend on a curvaceous road. Endless folded hills stretch in a swathe of green velvet, while in other places the sandstone rocks glow gold in evening light. In contrast, sharp mountain peaks pierce the dense blue sky – sometimes with a cap of snow. There are several parks and reserves in and around the Drakensberg Mountains, some private and others administered by KZN Wildlife and National Park’s offices.

These types of mountains are strongly recommended for nature lovers, bird watchers, families and in particular hikers and climbers. There is something for just about everyone who wants to soak up the magnitude of the surroundings and the crystal quality of the air which is cleansed by summer storms. Thunder and lightening echo through the infinite expanse of the Drakensberg in a theatrical spectacle and only during this furore, can you imagine the savage battles that were once fought here during confrontations between Brits, Boers and Zulus.

The mountains are the domain of eagles who lord over the skies in particular black eagles and bearded vultures. Roaming the hills and valleys are herds of eland and smaller buck. They are also rich in plant life, including a large number of species listed in the Red Data Book of threatened plants, with 119 species listed as globally endangered. The high slopes are hard to reach so the environment is fairly undamaged. However, tourism in the Drakensberg is developing, with a variety of hiking trails, hotels and resorts appearing on the slopes. Most of the higher South African parts of the range have been designated as game reserves or wilderness areas. Caves are frequent in the more easily eroded sandstone, and many have rock paintings by the Bushmen.

The best time to visit the mountains is the rainy season. Rainy Season: It rains in summer in sudden bursts and thunderstorms from October to April. Everything is green and lush and flowers cover the meadows. Dry Season: The dry season lasts over the winter months from May to September and in mid-winter (June to August) it gets extremely cold at night with sharp frosts and snow falls.

The Neugerriemschneider Gallery is more like a private showroom open to the public. It was founded in 1994 by Tim Neuger and Burkhard Riemschneider, and represents international heavy-weights including like Franz Ackermann, Olafur Eliasson and Jorge Pardo.

Mr. Weiwei’s exhibition consists of two large-scale sculptures “Tree” and “Rock” , that were fabricated before his arrest. The artist digitally rendered the final installation last year and, according to the gallery’s owner, Tim Neuger, he was prophetically adamant that, in the event of an arrest, the show open without him. The rocks are actually painted porcelain from the Chinese city of Jingdezhen, where ceramics have been produced since 200 B.C. The trees are, in fact, trees, albeit deconstructed and reconstructed. They’re composed of remnants of fallen trees collected from southern China and combined using ancient Chinese methods.

The Black River Gorges National Park emphasizes 6,574 hectares of wild thick forest in the island of Mauritius. This preserved paradise is also home to over 3000 species of flowering plants and nine species of birds, featuring the famous pink pigeon. The best way to explore the park is on foot, nevertheless it is possible to drive through it and stop for spectacular views along the way.

The whole park is a tremendous network of treks crisscross the jungle. However if you jump into a hiking experience there, it is advisible to check the current state of the trails at the information centre before hiked them. On the other hand you can hire a guide, which can be done via the tourists centre. The main gathering center is at the park’s western entarance about 5 km southeast of Grande River Noire. There is also another one, the Petrin Information Centre, at the eastern side of the park. The boardwalk near the Petrin Information Centre takes you to the heart of the marshy heathland, while keeping your feet dry. At Alexandra Falls, take the trail across the creek to learn more about the dwarf upland forest. People looking for taller trees can explore Macchabee forest west of Petrin or Bel Ombre forest south of Plaine Champagne. During your trekking in the park, there is no where to buy food or drinks, even at the tourist centres. Make sure you bring plenty of waters and energy food. You will aslo need good shoes, insect repellent, binoculars for bird-watching and water-prof gear.

The Black River Gorges National Park is highly ecological place. It is very important for the endemic birds and the rarest endemic plants to be preserved. Therefore the establishment of BRGNP has been a vital move in the protection of its unique and rich ecosystem and therefore is certainly an important heritage to be preserved for future generations.

Many of the remaining species that still exist in the park are critically endangered and the fact that Mauritian flora is rated amongst the most endangered in the world, the BRGNP warrants favourably for inscription on the World Heritage List. During the years the park became one of the World’s most successful and cost-effective conservation spot with focus on saving the Mauritius kestrel (Falco punctatus) pink pigeon (Columba mayeri) and echo parackeet (Psittacula eques).

It is possible that your trip will take a full day to fully appreciate this spectacular piece of land, which includes a variety of striking landscapes, in addition to its flora and fauna. At the end of the day most of the tourists prefer to build a camp in the heart of the park, and spend a wonderful night out, stargazinga and chillin with the whole group. However there is another option, if some of you don’t feel them as a wild child. And this is a stay at the Les Pavillons Mauritius, a luxury hotel designed to respect the environment and surroundings of its island home and is set against the backdrop of the striking peninsular Morne Brabant. In most cases your guide is responsible for the transportation to the hotel, but it’s up to you.Spending the night under the sounds of the mother nature is a wondeful challenge.

The best time to visit the park is during the flowering season between September and January. Look for the rare tambalacoque or dodo tree, the black ebony trees and the wild guavas.

The Museum of Street Art, like any other street art exhibition space, doesn’t have a permanent space or opening times for its exhibitions. Therefore, its current whereabouts could easily transform when you decide to visit Zagreb. Moreover, it represents the continuous dialogue between the artists, citizens and city’s authorities.

In 2010, the Zagreb Street Art Initiative was taken under the supervision of internationally renowned Croatian artists and concluded one of its efforts by repainting the old graffiti-covered Branimirova street wall.

The idea of the project, which is to revitalize city’s everyday appearance, is consisted of three sub-projects. The first one, was to repaint the Branimirova wall, which was successfully done. The other two are still on hold. The second sub-project aims to revitalize one of many ruinous public spaces/old factories in order to make a 4-month international street art gallery, and the third one presumes a complete synergy between the street art and the city itself.

That means that once a year a collective action will help to transform negligent parts of the city, especially areas of Novi Zagreb, and remodel the map of conventional sightseeing paths which end in front of the Museum of Modern Art.

Taking all of that in notion, many citizens of Zagreb, eagerly await to experience new forms of more democratic concept of art and see how Zagreb transforms into more lively space of intersocial dialogue. The organization is called Muuzeja, a non-profit association of citizens central unit established in 2009, in order to promote, develop and improve culture and art, encouraging creativity and creating a platform for exchange of knowledge and skills.

New York artist Tom Fruin creates an outdoor sculpture called Kolonihavehus in the plaza of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen. The quirky house has an appearance of a friendly and colorful stained-glass house, yet it also evokes thoughts of churches and Charles Rennie Macintosh.

Fruin’s sculpture is made of a thousand reclaimed pieces of plexiglass ranging in size from 2×2 to 24×36 inches. They originate from many sources, including a closed- down plexi distributorship near Copenhagen, a framing shop, the basement of the Danish State Art Workshops, and the dumpsters outside the Danish Architecture Center. The sculpture was brought to life by daily performances by Copenhagen-based CoreAct headed by Anika Barkan and Helene Kvint. The performances included poetry of the Danish Vagn Steen, Computer-controlled light sequences by Nuno Neto and a sound installation by Astrid Lomholt.

The pieces of the house initially were small garden sheds that were designed to give cramped and often impoverished city-dwellers a small plot and a refuge from city life.

York Castle is located in the city of York, England, and is a fortified complex comprising, over the last nine centuries, a sequence of castles, prisons, law courts and other buildings on the south side of the River Foss. It is sometimes called Clifford’s Tower. Before developing into a major fortification with extensive water defences, serving as the centre of royal administration in England, the castle suffered a tumultuous early history.

York Castle fell into disrepair by the 15th and 16th centuries, becoming used increasingly as a gaol for both local felons and political prisoners. By the time of Elizabeth I the castle was estimated to have lost all of its military value but was maintained as a centre of royal authority in York. During the English Civil War in 1642 the York Castle was repaired and refortified, playing a part in the Royalist defence of York in 1644 against Parliamentary forces. York Castle continued to be garrisoned until 1684, when an explosion destroyed the interior of Clifford’s Tower.

By the 20th century the ruin of Clifford’s Tower had become a well-known tourist destination and national monument; today the site is owned by English Heritage and open to the public. The other remaining buildings serve as the York Castle Museum and the Crown Court. Although little remains of the rest of the castle, it’s worth the climb to the top of Clifford’s Tower for the wonderful view over York. There are many opportunities there for splendid photo memories to be taken. Additionally there is the Castle Museum and the prison cell in which Dick Turpin spent his last days are in sight of the tower.

This type of gallery is very interesting due the fact that occupying artists in the residence produce works at the ground level, and the results of their efforts are displayed in the newly cantilevered pavilion which opens onto the courtyard below.

The MAK Gallery serves as a “black box” which is cantilevered on top of an existing garage structure which has been renovated to serve as studios for the visiting artists in residence. These studios, creating a large, flexible gathering space serving a variety of functions. A large multi-stacking sliding door system, constructed from aluminum frames and structured polycarbonate panels. These sliding doors, when are opened, they transform the interior space into an elevated outdoor room looking into a courtyard and roof terraces which are a prominent part of the original architectural strategy for the property.

The gallery also acts as a dance floor, film theatre and dining room. Location: at the rear of a standard residential lot in Los Angeles, United States.
