It sounds little weird, however one of the best place for relax in the centre of Copenhagen is cemetery -park Assistens Kirkegard. Initially the ground was intended for the poor to be buried. During the years passing by became a trendy resting place for the wealthy and famous, like physician Niels Bohr and world-renowned writers H.C. Andersen, M. A. Nexo and Soren Kierkegaard.

I would say that the cemetery is a local advantage these days. Locals using it as a picturesque park; in warm weather, expect to see people sunbathing and students studying nestled in between the rare trees and the graves. So bring a carpet, newspaper, boombox, and lay out in the verdant surroundings. Fittingly, the place never gets overcrowded.

If you’re holidat trip is time-limited, you can explore the cemetery as a shortcut to outer Norrebro by strolling through the dazzling mainway Poppel Alle. And don’t be scared if you suddenly find yourself far away from the main entrance—Assistens has several exits.

Evolver is a spectacular artifact, interrelated with the panorama environment in Zermatt. The structure sits next to the lake Stelli, at an attitude of 2,536 m. It was created by a team of 2nd year students from the university in Switzerland.

Evolver has 24 rotating frames, which support an enclosed space, where visitors are encouraged to enter. When you processes through the structure, a 720 degrees movement is unraveling along a transformed panorama. The transformation is obvious, only while inside a person is moving along, a selective string of openings only to be caught peeling off a sequence of unexpected views from the original landscape.

Move unsteadily from side to side, a distant horizon ground and sky have been mixed into an orbiting panorama by a journey that has already culminated to where it started. A loophole on the skyline.

During the Zermatt Festival in September ‘09, Evolver hosted the sound project Deviation: Alpaufzug. Creating a new electronic device inspired by the legendary Swiss Alphorn, the Deviation collective from Lausanne installed 6 sound sources. Deviation plays improvised music on devices every time different, created for the occasion, on the basis of sound equipment in close connection with the place or context of the performance.

It is often said that something has to be changed for a good future of all human beings and our planet Earth!I present you the idea of biooctanic towers on positions of existing petrol stations in cities. The croatian architectural firm UPI-2M have designed ‘biooctanic‘ a series of crop production towers used for the production of bio fuel and city air recuperation.

Their research led them to the conclusion that algae and bamboo would give best production results; max. amount of bio-fuels per unit of surface (or spatial unit), also considering other factors, like cost of technologies required for cultivation and processing, growth rate, annual input-to-yield ratio, etc.

After all they apply the system in their immediate environment, cities in croatia, however it is applicable to any urban area in the world. By applying such bio towers we would reduce the amount of valuable agricultural land used for production of bio-fuel plants, reduce transportation costs and related air pollution. This kind of crop production also has advantages over farming in open spaces, because it’s not weather-dependant, and you can create artificial conditions which enhance the plant growth.

Lovingly referred to as “Beaubourg” by many Parisians and the “gerbil cage” or “cruise liner” by foreign visitors, the Pompidou testifies to France’s surprising sense of architectural adventure, and bien sûr the lasting personal marks of its presidents.

The museum’s collection contains over 50,000 works from across the 20th century—only a fraction of those are exhibited at the huge gallery. Start your journey with contemporary art on the fourth floor and work your way up—and back in time—through Ono, Klein, Calder, Dufy, and Picasso. Canonize your visit with a new classic: une coupe de champagne on the sixth floor terrace café, aptly dubbed, Georges.

The island of Timor lies to the east of Sumna, and north west of Australia. It is an arid place, with a mountain range stretching across it, from end to end. Timor is divided into West Timor, which is part of Indonesia, and the independent state of East Timor. West Timor is a good jumping off point for the eastern Indonesian islands. Kupang, a busy, noisy city, is the capital of East Nusa Tenggara province. Beyond it, starkly beautiful, rugged countryside sweeps away, sprinkled with traditional villages of neat, beehave shaped, grass and bamboo nuts. Photo by: mikewhitton

While West Timor is, of course, Muslim, East Timor is about 90 per cent Christian, mainly Catholic, and churches, some well worth visiting, can be found across the whole island. Naturally however, pockets of animism still occur there. Photo by: N Takyo

Timor is ringed with unspoiled beaches, most of which are completely undeveloped. In the hills, maize, sweet potatoes and coffee are grown, while rubber, coconuts, tobacco and rice grow nearer the coast. The island has lots of potential: in time, East Timor will enjoy the financial benefits of having off- shore oil and gas fields, which are being developed with Australia and which are needed to rebuilt infrastructure and other war damage. Meanwhile, West Timor will no doubt see tourism increasing, now that hostilities are over. Photo by: Graham Crumb

There are so many incredible photos… it is very difficult to choose…. This is Ilulissat Icefjord which is located 250 km north of the Arctic Circle and is the biggest natural attraction in Greenland. Owing to gigantic icebergs, the glacier flows at a rate of 20-35 m per day, resulting in around 20 billion tones of icebergs. In 2004 was admitted onto UNESCO’s World Heritage List. It has been the object of scientific attention for 250 years and is today at the centre of the huge international focus on global warming thanks to extensive media coverage.

The ice-stream is one of the fastest (19m per day) and most active in the world. Its annual calving of over 35km³ of ice accounts for 10% of the production of all Greenland calf ice, more than any other glacier outside Antarctica. The glacier has significantly added to the understanding of ice-cap glaciology, climate change and related geomorphic processes.

All the islands are wildly beautiful with coastlines of cavernous cliffs, rocky outcrops, black sand beaches and sheltered bays. Traces of massive volcanic eruptions can be seen everywhere in the incredible scenery. Rugged mountains with deep ravines, crater lakes and curious rock formations.
‘Let go, let go……let gooooo!’ That is going to be a voice shout from above when you do hang gliding in the Lookout Mountain.
Glider pilots, foot-launching from a large concrete platform, 1,340 feet above the valley below, surf those waves, gliding as effortlessly as birds. Once airborne, gliders can spend hours soaring around.

Siesta Key is one small island, that may be better to visit. The island is a hidden treasure in Florida, especially in the summer. Siesta Key is an eight-mile-long, crescent-shaped barrier island on the Gulf Coast south of Sarasota. The island is more popular during the summer months, where tourists discover sugar -white sand, cool gulf breezes, clear turquoise water and huge disaccounts on accommodations from July to September.

Siesta Key was uninhabited until the 1880’s. First called Sarasota Key, it was connected to the mainland in 1917, when the first two bridges was built and the island was discovered by artists, writers and business men. Residents changed the island’s name to Siesta Key in the 1920’s.

Siesta Key boasts with several luxury resorts, including the $100 million Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Residence Club, offering time-share units that costs from $140,000 to $695, 000. But there are also accommodations across the street from the beach, that are affordable for other type of pocket. The Ringling Beach House for example, a pink stucco building has rooms starting at $120 a night. The island also offers a huge range of dining options. There are tapas bars, tiki bars, raw bars, and crab shacks. But the most hopping spot on the island is the public beach pavilion famous for its Psychedelic Superman ice cream. People of all ages walk around to reggae music, licking melting cones.

When to go: From July to November. Population: 9,581 (doubles in winter). How to get there: Domestic and international airlines serve several major airports in Florida. The Sarasota/Bradenton Airport (SRQ) is located conveniently between two towns (Sarasota & Bradenton) and very close to Siesta Key. Rental cars are readily available at the airport. Ask about special fly-drive package rates. Photos by: Chip Litherland

A short ferry ride from Cambell River takes you through whale- and dolphin-rich waters to this island of ancient temperate rainforest. Photo by: jenisthebest

With its rich woodland, diverse topography, and plentiful wildlife, Quadra Island has become a huge draw for outdoor enthusiasts. There is an extensive system of lakes and rivers for kayaking and canoeing and many paths and trails for hiking and mountain biking. Guided bird watching and fishing charters run during the summer months, as do seaborne whale and bear watching trips. Its lakes are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including black-tailed deer, river otters, harbour seals, sea-lions, cormorants, snowy owls, the great blue heron and the rarely seen peregrine flacon. Photo by: bcshooter

Its remoteness at the top of the Strait of Georgia helps this island community retain an idyllic charm. Aboriginal and European people live side by side, and whilst tourism is growing it is not overwhelming. Photo by: GerryT

The New York State Pavilion also included the adjacent “Theaterama,” which exhibited pop art works by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein among others. Proposals to turn it into an air-and-space museum or incorporate it into a new World’s Fair in Queens for 2015 have been abandoned.

The pavilion consisted of an open-air, elliptical structure called the Tent of Tomorrow, a theater in the round, and three towers topped by circular platforms. An over-sized map of the state of New York, which is made up of 567 mosaic terrazzo panels weighing about 400 lbs.

The smallest tower was 18 meters (59 feet) tall and housed a restaurant, while the middle and tallest towers-45 meters (147 feet) and 68 meters (223 feet)-contained observation decks.

Suspended on cables, the roof stretched between 16 tall concrete pylons, with riveted steel.

Where the Tiber flows through Rome, there is a single island in its southern bend. Technically, Tiber Island is an eyot with an agglomeration of ancient fluvial silt and detritus. To Romans, it is th site of the oldest settlement in the area. As Rome grew across its seven hills, the island become first an isolation ward for the chronically sick, and then a place of healing and even cure. Today the church there is called St Bartholomew’s after its primary relics, and is enclosed by a massive basilica. Photo by: Sgommapiuma

The more you interest Tiber Island, the more you will be intrigued by small details. The pedestrian Ponte Fabricio, Rome’s oldest surviving bridge, connects it to the Campo Martio. Two four-faced Janus herms are mounted on its parapet – Janus is usually two-faced, looking both ways, and four-faced images guarded only the most important intersection. Look under the perimeter stairway at the downstream end to see the 1st century marble decoration of the island. Tiber Island is like one widespread commitment to its real meaning. Photo by: hops_76

When to go: Year-round. Population: 1 (officially the resident priest of St Bartholomew’s). How to get there: By car, from Trastevere via the restored 46 BC Ponte Cesito, to one of about 30 parking spaces near the piazza; or on foot, from the Piazza Monte Savello, near the Ghetto, via Ponte Fabricio. Photo by: Mailbags

A bunch of New Zealander’s interpreters has created a human-powered monorail system, known as the Shweeb. Their creation does double duty, acting not just as an innovative transportation system, but also an amusement ride.

The technology of the Shweeb is remarkably simple – the only infrastructure required is a network of interconnected single rails. A number of pods are hung from this these lines, which are powered by the people sitting inside them. In principle, these pods are no different than recumbent bicycles – they can achieve close to 25 mph, are comfortable to use, and can be used by nearly anyone.
