Situated in the southernmost part of Brooklyn, just a stone’s throw away from Manhattan, Coney Island is a year-round entertainment destination full of fun things to do. Opened to the public in distant 1829, the Island became a favorite vacation spot for the rich and famous. The island is possibly best known as the site of amusement parks and a major resort that reached their peak during the first half of the 20th century. With nearly 3 miles of sandy beaches, Coney Island offers an ideal summer respite from the hectic and steamy city.

New York is definitely the place to be for a hungry art lover and there are places that should not be missed out. The Metropolitan Museum of Art (colloquially The Met) is one of the largest and finest museums in the world. Its collections now contain more than three million works of art from all points of the compass, ancient through modern times. Located in New York City’s Central Park along Fifth Avenue it was founded in 1870. Every year nearly five million people visit the museum make it one of the most popular tourist attractions in NYC.

Situated in the city of Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum or Museu de Arte Contemporanea de Niteroi – MAC is one of the city’s main landmarks. More than a simple museum, it is a cultural space. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer (one of the most famous architects on earth), the architectural complex might be better known for its fascinating building, which looks more like a UFO than a museum at first glance.

Malba Museum or Latinamerican Museum of Art is one of the most impressive museums in Buenos Aires and throughout Latin America. Created in 2001 by Argentine businessman Eduardo Constantini, the museum displays artworks of Latin American art from the early 20th century to the present day. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and expand its selection of works from modern artists from across Latin America. The museum housed an ultra-modern glass on steel building designed by renowned Argentine architectural firm - AFT Architects.

Located in the center of the city’s cultural complex, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art is one of the biggest museums in Israel. The museum houses a comprehensive collection of classical and contemporary art, a sculpture garden and a youth wing. Opened as early as 1932, before the state of Israel was even founded, the museum moved to its current location in 1971 and a sculpture garden was established in 1999. Tel Aviv Museum of Art holds a wide selection of works and offers an interesting representation of Israeli art and culture.

Situated on the west side the very lovely Laleh Park in the center of the capital, Tehran, the Museum of Contemporary Art is surrounded by 7000 sq. m of sculpture park, in which sculptures by renowned international and Iranian artists are on display. The Park is home to works by a number of the world’s leading sculptors, including “Capricorn” by Max Ernst; “The Prickly Pear” by Alexander Calder; “The Reclining Figure” by “Henry Moore” and more. The museum is considered to have the largest collection of valuable Western modern art outside of Europe and the United States.

Located in the area of Cairo called Mar Girgis, where many of the oldest Coptic churches and Jewish synagogues can be found, the Coptic Museum is a small museum hosting the world’s largest collection of Coptic Christian artwork. Founded by Marcus Simaika Pasha in 1910, the museum displays the history of Coptic Christianity in Egypt from its beginnings to the present day. It is a significant aspect of Egyptian history as its emergence marked the end of pagan religion and the birth of Islam in Egypt.

This is an art museum sited at the top of a hill overlooking industrial Toyota City, in central Japan. The city - home of the popular automobile company is known as a “city of industry and cultural communication”. Housed in modern building constructed by Yoshio Taniguchi, who also renovated the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, the museum displays collection and permanently exhibits of modern and contemporary art, designs and crafts, both domestic and internationally.
