Jon Dunbar is a great traveler and photographer. Today I’m going to present you his last urban exploring in South Korea – the Boeing 747 restaurant, looming huge over the highway, and yet dwarfed by a swarm of apartment buildings all around.

Jon says: “Thanks to the helpful people at Urban Exploration Resource I discovered that this was the second Boeing 747 ever made and apparently the first to be flown commercially.”

This is somewhat surreal shot: it almost looks like this Jumbo 747 landed on a poor little building, which still tries to be cheerful with all these painted Pokemons and a satellite dish:

Los Angeles International Airport

There’s so much potential to improve airline travel in so many ways with the creation of a better experience, deliver a sense of freedom that was previously unavailable to all but the wealthiest of travelers. Sustainability and energy efficiency are extremely important. There’s a trend of pushing cars farther away from the terminals and improving access to public transit with better rail links and easy-to-use connections. Quieter airplanes make it possible to close the distance between city and airport, which will cut down transit times.

Incheon International Airport Seoul

Today architects have to reconsider the basic structure of airports. If they land planes on an incline to assist in deceleration and have runways end on top of the terminals to eliminate the need for taxiing, they can save billions of gallons of fuel each day. It’s not that radical an idea. They can utilize the concept to make airports more efficient.

Heathrow International Airport London

As anyone who has been to Peru, ?or Bali, or Timbuktu can tell you, travel is not merely the experience of going?somewhere. Travel design must convey a complex message: of place, of pleasure, of international exchange.

Changi Airport Singapore

Terminals are the Taj Mahals of travel design. The best are gateways to ?optimistic futures. Like a cathedral, the terminal’s inspires ?a feeling of exaltation before sending? you on your way. It is a focus of constant motion, and yet the traveler ?is encouraged to pause for a plate of ?raw oysters or a relaxing cocktail, ?or to sit on a comfortable bench and gape at the terminal’s celestial ceiling, upon which the cosmos have been painted.

Carrasco International Airport Montevideo Uruguay

There will never be a final word on airport design, as airports are in a constant state of flux. New terminals are built in response to new complications, such as increased traffic and heightened security. Old terminals, no matter how beautiful, are continually modified. But on a certain level, ?all airports are construction zones

The new Airbus A380 has an outstanding interior design that will lead the A380 on a league of its own. With spacious interior space, being all around by spectacular design features, as well as a manner of the art entertainment and business facilities, the A380 feels more like a hotel bar, than an airplane. The A380 is the world’s largest passenger aircraft and includes 50 per cent more floor space than its nearest competitor.

The fabulous double deck arrangement gives extra capacity at the same time as improving the passenger experience. Each twin-aisle cabin allows wider seats but with fewer rows than on other large aircraft. Easing the stress of long-haul travel, the A380 cabins feature mood lighting thanks to light emitting diodes (LED) capable of simulating day or night. Mood lighting reliеve the stress of jet lag for long-haul passengers and also supplies a relaxing atmosphere. Windows are also larger, providing more natural light and a better view outside the aircraft.

Mozambique is a Portuguese colony and home to over 1, 500 miles of undeveloped Indian Ocean beachfront. Some of the finest diving and deep sea marlin fishing in the world and a unique Afro-Iberian-Brazilian culture with one of the most relaxing tourism destination.

The capital of Mozambique is Maputo which is one of the safer capitals in Africa. The city sits both on the Indian Ocean and at the confluence of the three rivers. The primary language is Portuguese and many young Mozambicians speak English.

In Maputo, inside many of the older structures Mozambicians have built cafes and restaurants with great Mozambician food, one of the world’s original cuisines. Because Mozambique wasn’t influenced only by Portugal but also by Arab trades and migrants from Portugal’s Asian and Latin colonies, Mozambique’s cosmopolitan cuisine mixed Brazilian spices, local seafood and tropical fruits.

The ideal time to visit Mozambique is May through October, the cooler, drier season. January through April is hot and rainy, which also can be a fine time to visit, as long as you’re prepared for occasional wet spells. October through January is brutally hot and uncomfortable.

From New York, the fare to Maputo, on a code-share flight between American Airlines and South African Airways, with stops in London and Johannesburg, would cost roughly $1,835, based on a prices being quoted for a 21-day advance-purchase ticket in mid-May.

Narita Airport, is also known as New Tokyo International Airport, located in the city of Narita in Chiba Prefecture, about 60 km outside of Tokyo. It consists of two terminal buildings, terminal 1 and terminal 2, with each airline being assigned to one of the two terminals.

In this issuse I’ll present mostly Terminal 1, which is absolutely funky and magnificent place. Narita Terminal 1 handles mostly US and European airlines‘ flights plus Cathay Pacific, Korean Air and Singapore Airlines.

In the earily 60’s Tokyo International Airport was quickly becoming overcrowded. So Japenese government had decided to built a bran new airport with multufunctional terminal. On April 1, 2004, New Tokyo International Airport was opened its doors named as Narita International Airport.

Terminal 1 uses a satellite terminal design and it’s very stylish.Check-in is processed on the fourth floor, and departures and immigration control are on the third floor. Arriving passengers clear immigration on the second floor, then claim their baggage and clear customs on the first floor. Most shops and restaurants are located on the fourth floor of the Central Building and they are absolutly lovely and gorgeous. You can chillin and enjoy your timing there.

Qantas Airways Senior Executive President, Wally Mariani, describes them as ‘ simply the best in the world’.

‘The services offered in our new lounges are equal to those found in the world’s best five star hotels and restaurants’, said Wally.

One of the services in lounges can help customers book a restaurant in any city around the world or get tickets to the latest Broadway musical. Also the music has been specially created to complement the atmosphere and function of each area of the lounge.

The new Dreamliner Boeing 787 is everything…The interior and exterior are designed to insure passengers comfort and quietness than any other jet. Inside ‘The Boeing 787 Dreamliner‘ have wider seats aishes, a spacious architecture, innovative LED lighting, big bins, more space and the largest windows.

The windows sizes are huge than these on any other commercial aircraft flying today(19-inches tall, and 10,3 inches wide). The perfectly designed windows offer a view of the boundlessly sky to the passengers seated anywhere in the cabin. The windows can be darkened at the touch of a botton.

Also the space inside is more open with sweeping arches that immediately the eye upward. A thoughtful cabin configuration and well-defined architectural boundaries, such as galleys, lavatories and other design features. These strategic cabin breaks will make passengers feel more comfortable on long-duration flights.

The airplane will use 20 percent less fuel per passenger. Therefore this a dream plane for both (passengers and airlines), and looks so good with its sophisticated modern design, the 787 is the most refined aircraft in the sky. Its wings, tail, nose, and flight deck windows have all been engineered for the greatest aerodynamic efficiency and streamlining possible.

The new terminal of Bilbao Airport, Spain is a production of Aerodynamic roof over the administrative areas, restaurants and waiting areas. So this exciting architecture is design by the architect Santiago Calatrava. The investment is 43 million Euros($39million). It covers an area of 25, 000 square meters and will be able to handle up 3 million passenger per year.

The Bilbao Airport has been designed to limit the impact of ancillary buildings. The new innovations are the expansion of the airfield by 500 meters, this will increase the airport payload operations. Also the construction of a new control tower, which improve the airport’s control facilities.

The entrance to the passenger hall in the new terminal building is 140m long and the hall has a height of 20m. The distance from the entrance to the apron is 26m.

For Santiago Calatrava aesthetics on the airport are very important because it is the gateway to the Basque capital and the area has recently seen the addition of some spectacular new buildings, such as the Guggenheim museum.

The four-storey car park, for instance, is tucked into a grassy embankment, out of sight and mind once the vehicle has been parked. Inside the building there is a similar aesthetic concern. The floors are of shining marble and passengers reach the aircraft by way of the departure hall and the four-storey departure gallery that lies beyond it, connected to the aircraft by steel gangways.
