Wayfaring offers a glimpse at the first skate park in East Africa, situated in a working class suburb of Kampala, Uganda. The park was created both for and by local kids, without assistance from either NGOs or government. The skate park could be described as both a source of pride and empowerment, a space that not only keeps kids out of trouble, but fosters the development of a real sense of community. It’s a real dream.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, on the edge of the western Rift Valley, covers an area of 331 sq km (128 sq miles). The forest, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, is a sanctuary for around half the world’s mountain gorillas, including the Mubare and the Habinyanja groups.
