mowani mountain camp

Nestled between the Ugab and Huab rivers, Mowani Mountain Camp, which means ‘place of god’, sits in the heart of the Twyfelfontein area in western Namibia. From a distance, the elevated collection of domed, thatched rooftops looks like an African village, but this is no ordinary place to stay. Photo by: Lion King Travel ?????

Published by Asya in Africa, Hotels, Namibia, Relaxing, Swimming, Villas

villa verdi
Surrounded by lush, tropical gardens, Villa Verdi is a tranquil haven, one of the most popular boutique accommodation establishments in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Villa Verdi is true African chic – the beautiful combination of European elegance and African decor in spacious, comfortable settings. Unique decor and personal service are the hallmarks of this city oasis that welcomes you with warm Namibian smiles. This is a quirky little place, the detailed design of which demonstrates some considerable flair. The place feels like a cross between a small hotel and a guest house. Looking across the swimming pool in the garden, a panoramic view of the Auas Mountains reminds you that you really are in Africa.

A vast area on Namibia’s central plateau, a haven for 93 mammal species and 340 bird species, the park’s focal point is the Etosha Pan – a flat saline desert, 130 km long by 50km at its widest in the eastern sector of the park.

swakopmund 3

Swakopmund is one of the most surreal places in this surreal country. It is Namibia’s premier beach resort and is one of the best preserved examples of German colonial architecture in the world. Attractions in Swakopmund include a transport museum, the National Marine Aquarium, a crystal gallery and spectacular sand dunes near Langstrandswakopact south of the Swakop River. The city is known for extreme sports, while nearby lie a camel farm and the Martin Luther steam locomotive, dating from 1896 and abandoned in the desert. Swakopmund also offers a host of other attractions, including excursions by boat to see dolphins and seals, shorebased angling, skin diving, surfing or just simply lazing on the beach. And, of course, the town is surrounded by the Namib Naukluft Park, one of the most bewitching desert wilderness areas in Africa, for one day trips or longer safaris for the ultimate desert camping experience.
