With roughly two million inhabitants, Medellin is the second largest and most progressive city in Colombia. Possibly best known for the culture, the warmth of its people and beautiful girls, there is plenty to do and see in this wonderful and vibrant city. Located at 5,000 ft above sea level, the city was founded in 1616 in the scenic Aburra valley, but remained small until the coffee boom.

The Santo Domingo Church was built during the 16th century in Cartagena, Colombia. It is the oldest church in the city. It was firstly built in 1539 in Plaza de los Coches, but after a fire and was rebuilt in its present location in 1552. It has a wide central nave and a heavy roof coverage.However the vault began to crack and solid counterforts had to be added in order to support the structure and prevent it from collapsing.

Monasterio de La Candelaria in Colombia was found in 1597.The Augustine monks have built it for three years.Today it is still functioning like a monastery, however part of ti is opened for visitors.The guests could see the library, a little museum, the chapel and the large courtyard.There are 16th and 17th – century paintings inside the chapel and on the courtyard’s walls with a very interesting sample of religious art on The authors are Gregorio Vásquez de Arce y Ceballos and the Figueroa brothers.

Iguaque is a small area of wasteland and Andean forest embedded in the development of the intercepted areas of the Eastern Cordillera, Colombia. Travels a distance of 8 km and covers the municipalities of Tunja, Villa de Leyva and Arcabuco in the department of Boyaca. Its forests are the water supplyers to the local municipalities.

After two year restoration, a magnificent 250-year-old colonial mansion in the heart of the historic city of Cartagena has come to life. Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi converted a Spanish-colonial mansion into a white-on-white urban escape that pops with funky decorative accents reminiscent of the accessories from her collections. The Tcherassi Hotel has been nominated in the 17th Annual World Travel Awards in the category “South America’s Leading New Hotel”. The World Travel Awards are the most prestigious awards in the global travel industry.
