Andorra is a tiny mountainous country set in the valley of Pyrenees, situated between Spain and France. With 65 peaks above 2,500 m, Andorra has the largest skiable area in the Pyrenees. One of the most beautiful parts of the country is Ordino that is also the most northern parish of Andorra. Located on the foot slopes of Casamanya (2740 m), the town of Ordino offers spectacular panoramic views. You can enjoy fantastic ski slopes in winter, trekking in summer or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh air.

Populated by about 4,500 people, Ordino is home to good-quality restaurants and plenty of museums. There are several museums such as the Nicolai Siadristy’s Microminiature Museum, the Iconographic Museum, the Postal Museum, the Areny Plandolit’s House Museum, and also the National Auditorium of Andorra. There are also a lot of small medieval churches, stone bridges and streams. The International Narciso Yepes Festival, a series of classical music concerts, has been held there every October since 1983.

The town has many scenic mountains surrounding it, with ski slopes that winter-sport enthusiasts enjoy. Ordino and the valley is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a pleasant vacation in Andorra while also being able to have fun skiing in nature. The Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley is a glacial valley in Andorra. The isolated valley offers visitors the chance to discover the harmony between nature and mankind saved over the years. It covers an area approximately of 43 km² and this represents almost 10% of the surface area of the country. In 2004 it became Andorra’s first, and to date its only, UNESCO World Heritage Site in the cultural landscape category.

A diversity of landscapes, dry stone walls, cottages and country houses, flocks and the uninterrupted presence of human activity recall, without interruptions or alterations, significant periods in individual history. At present the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley is the scene for new leisure related activities, among which one should note trekking, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.
