Deliciously prepared lobster is served in many of the island’s restaurants at a very reasonable price – don’t miss it. There are numerous ways to spend your lazy days on Caye Caulker. A popular hang-out is the ‘Split’ – a natural break in the island caused by wave action and enlarged by Hurricane Hattie in 1961. The swimming and sunbathing is great there and is a lively beach bar should you need some refreshment.

The beautiful barrier reef is only a 5 minute boat ride away from shore and there are numerous ways to enjoy the amazing underwater scenery. You can take a snorkel trip with a licensed tour guide who will point out all the amazing wildlife, including friendly stingrays and nurse sharks and many species of corals and tropical fish. If you are very lucky you may even spot a turtle or dolphin. Another popular trip takes you to watch rare and protected manatees in their natural habitat. Water sports are also popular there and you can have a go at sea kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. There are also excellent fishing locations around the Caye. Half or full day trips can be arranged where you could expect to land snapper, kingfish, barracuda and tarpon.

Butterfly 88
Scientist name: Diaethria species. This is one of most exotic butterflies that are considered natural treasures of the sub-tropical Amazon rainforest. The Diaethria species are known as the 88 butterfly because many have the number 88 on their underside wings. A member of the Callicorini family, the Diaethria genus is the third most diverse genus.

Transparent butterfly
Also known as the Glasswing butterfly, it is a strange species of butterfly, belonging to the Nymphalidae family that is the most diverse family of butterflies. Usually medium sized to large butterflies, Transparent butterfly can be found from Mexico to Panama. The glassy wings work as a means of camouflage, helping the butterfly to better blend in the environment and as a result avoid more effectively any potential predators.

Great Mormon
Scientist name: Papilio memnon. It is a large butterfly with a wing span of up to 135mm and with contrasting colors that belongs to the Swallowtail family.  There are at least 550 species, and though the majority are tropical, members of the family are found on all continents except Antarctica but it’s fairly common in Singapore. The male has one form, black with a dusting of blue on the upper side of the wings. The female, however has up to 7 forms and is much more splendid from the male.

Blue Morpho
Scientist name: Morpho Menelaus. The Blue Morpho Butterfly is a species of neotropical butterfly that has brilliant blue wings (the females are not as brilliantly colored as the males and have a brown edge with white spots surrounding the iridescent blue area). A Morpho butterfly may be one of over 80 species of butterflies in the genus Morpho. It is an iridescent blue butterfly that lives in rainforests of South and Central America, including Brazil, Costa Rica, and Venezuela. Morphos range in wingspan from the 7.5 cm to the imposing 20 cm.

Spanning 200 sq m, La Nonna is a very nice restaurant located in Mexico City. The project was designed by Mexican architect studio CheremSerrano in collaboration with the firm DMG Architects.  The restaurant is designed with a simple lay-out completely decorated using local materials.

The restaurant design of the furniture arrangement across the restaurant is simple featuring a bar with a pizza stove and a wood counter in the centre. Floors made of dark stone and built to the sidewalk, while the walls and ceilings surrounded by red brick with a special cutting above the mirror.

Ian Fleming is a British author who has created a fictional private paradise reminiscent of James Bond at GoldenEye. The land  is Jamaican north-coast property which he bought in 1946. The founder of Island Records, Chris Blackwell, has owned the home and 15 surrounding acres since 1976, and later turned it into a six-villa hotel before closing it two and a half years ago. Nowadays Mr. Blackwell has reopened the property in expanded form, as a 52-acre resort with 22 units, each with an outdoor shower and touch-screen sound system loaded with Island Records-produced music. There are also two new restaurants serve local cuisine, featuring ackee and saltfish for breakfast. The magnificent Hacienda Xcanatun was originally constructed in the mid 18th century by one of the most notable families in the Yucatan. The Ayoloco Glaciar is situated in the valley ”La Joya”, in Mexico. During the rainy period and after winter storms is possible to find snow and ice near Ayoloco camping zones. The route is usually taken in 2 days the first one up to Ayoloco camping zone (3-6 hrs) and the other one to the summit (3-5 hrs) and down (3-5 hrs). The single push from “La Joya” to the summit will take about 12-14 hrs round trip. The glacier may look easy and with no dangers at all, but it can be very dangerous especially in the rainy season and after big winter storms, avalanches can happen on it.

While you climb Ayoloco Glacier, you may need a place to stay for the night or to relax a few hours in the day. There are to options for rest if you have to climb this glacier: the first one is Ayoloco hut, its official name I think is “Otis Mcallister”. This hut can hold 6 people and some tents outside it, be sure to leave your food in a safe place, there are lots of mice in the area. The second one is “Las Cruces” camping spot.

From both camping spots you have to head to the center of the glacier, try to go a little to the right but not to close to the headwall, rockfall can happen at all times (if your idea is to ice climb the Ayoloco couloir, you will have to go close to the headwall), from the glacier head up until you reach the belly, and from there you have to follow the same directions as in the “Arista del Sol” route. It’s possible to find water on this route almost year around on the valley just below “La Joya” and it’s usual to find some little streams around “Las Cruces” and Ayoloco camping zones however this creeks are seasonal, depending on the amount of snow on the mountain. I strongly recommend treating all water that you get from these streams.
