The Caribbean’s premier yacht races

This is one of the most popular events on the British Virgin Islands’ social calendar, and is a chance for the whole community to come together in a week of races and entertainment. The event usually kicks off on the Monday evening with a welcome party at Nanny Cay Marina where registration for the Sailing Festival takes place. Three days of destination cruising and racing follows before the main three-day regatta properly gets underway on the Friday. The first BVI Spring Regatta took place in 1972 and remains an integral part of island life.

The Dubai International Racing Carnival is a sporting and social event not to be missed – Be part of it

The United Arab Emirates is well placed on the world map of international sport by hosting some of the most prestigious sporting events in the world. The infrastructure and facilities are world-class and has marked the UAE as the sporting capital of the Middle East. The 2006-2007 racing season began in November with the Winter Racing Challenge, the 2007 Dubai International Racing Carnival starts on 18th January and the season culminates with the world’s richest race, the Dubai World Cup, sponsored by Emirates Airline on Saturday 31st March 2007. Along with the Dubai World Cup, there are a further five Thoroughbred Group races and a Group One for Purebred Arabians, ensuring the day is one of the most significant in global Thoroughbred horse racing. The Carnival, which last year attracted over 200 horses from 14 countries, runs over 10 meetings at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. In addition to the racing, the Dubai Racing Club will be organising a number of glamorous social occasions, including the ever popular Fillies & Fashions.

If you live in Netherlands and us Vodafone plan your daily journeys easier As we learned from a post on MobileTopSoft, all the folks in Netherlands will have an opportunity to plan their daily journeys easier, if they are customers of Vodafone and use TomTom navigation services.

TomTom and Vodafone Netherlands are planning to jointly develop and introduce a technology that according to them will revolutionise the way people plan their daily journeys. The solution is planned to be available from the second half of 2007.

This development will see TomTom’s technology convert anonymous, raw GSM signaling data supplied by Vodafone Netherlands’ network into accurate, real-time, information on the speed and direction of cars traveling throughout the road network of the Netherlands. The technology has been tested and proven on a regional scale and this will be the world’s first nationwide, commercial deployment.
