Opening originally in 1884 this beautiful Victorian building, next to Liverpool Street Station, houses 5-star luxury. The architects used an ordinary again affordable rectangular timber sectioned in 105 mm. Its walls are made of glass and accessories plus personal stash namely by placing hundreds of wooden beams are arranged neatly on the front and the ceiling. Cafe Kureon have tables and chairs are so elegant and thin white. Tables and chairs are placed on the outside and inside. Both the flexible structure of the layout and the fact that the timber is free of special treatment make that it can easily go back to its initial state when the building needs to be disassembled and moved. The 197 square meter restaurant appears to minimally touch the ground. The internal dining space is contained within a glass enclosed box and the exterior is wrapped with interlocking lengths of timber.

The build has its own personal expression, contemporary and cosmopolitan, by enhancing its spatial existing conditions as variant experiences, the new range of open spaces, its terraces, its sake bar and its own exclusive temple oriented to the totally satisfying to sushi lovers.

Maintaining a very intimate and subtle feel towards the incomparable encounter with the exterior, once you enter you’ll find yourself in a terrace, where eating and drinking are embraced by natural vegetation. The building’s entire facade and landscape were carefully designed to become an extension of the restaurant creating a strong relationship between the inside and the outside. The Facade, which seems to materialize from the ground climbing up since the building, as if mimicking the natural ivy surrounding the retaining walls, is made maturity of two self-supporting layers of steel plates cut with a CNC machine and handcrafted to exact specifications. The facade’s pattern responds to the inside openings, filtering light, shadows, and views that will constantly invade the interior spaces. An atmosphere enriched by the spectrum of subtle changes. After intensive research it seemed the only remaining architectural representation not yet re-imagined in the Thai restaurant scene, was the Thai temple, all shining white marble and gold mosaics. The simple palate of finish off white marble, Corian, gold and silver mirror, and gold Alucabond is used to utmost effect to create the temporary ‘Temple’. Corian is used extensively throughout, cladding furniture, tabletops, and walls, allowing for seamless transitions across the surfaces and adding to the ‘stone temple’ feel. For the wall cladding the Corian is lasercut into an intricate lotus leaf figure pattern that had to be adapted and adjusted to suit the main panel widths throughout the space. Behind the lasercut panels lies silver and gold mirror creating depth, lightness, and the perfect spot for people watching. The mirror ceiling allows the drawing to continue vertically and creates a huge central volume of space.

Fig & Wisteria trees cut into the middle of the central communal table soften the space & lights suspended in the branches assure twinkle at blackness. The showcase kitchen pulled to the front of the space, sits within a gold tiled box, opposite upholstered booths that are both intimate, somewhere open. Ubon is a Thai bistro specializes in curries, rice & noodles located in the heart of Kuwait city. It overlooks Fahad Al salim street, a street well prized for its commerce back in the days. The opening program of this bistro requires an efficient design for all of the kitchen, storage, further toilet areas; allowing for a spacious dining place. Thanks to this to be executed, the interior works where to integrated with the existing structural elements network a harmonious manner.

The Burnt wood panels, infused with the twinkling copper elements surround the dining area portraying the Asian influence of this restaurant. Pendant lights were added to soothe the dining place with their organic shape. Adding to their relevance is the inner golden color they diffuse, a color that had esteemed impact on Thai cultural ornamentation.

Giving a visual continuity to the dining area where the wooden grains imprinted on the restroom’s concrete walls. The contrast in color and material here is then united by texture. To continue the vertical pattern, the restroom was ?tted with a suspended ceiling faucet along with an off-white standalone basin. Ubon is perfect for a quick lunch gap or for a relaxing night out dinner. Serves flavorful Thai food in a hip, modern and peaceable atmosphere, this is an efficient design of the restaurant located in the hub of Kuwait.

This is an unusual designed restaurant located in Bergen, The Netherlands. The Restaurant Fabricca is very cozy and, even though the interior is original and not the traditional typical decor, it’s still elegant and stylish but in a different way. Industrial area, the elements of glamor, minimalist and high-tech, mix, comic shaped styling, causing a lot of unintentional associations. The big dining pods of the restaurant are very cozy and especially inviting, offering a unique dining experience to anyone who enters. The second you enter the restaurant you get a strange feeling that takes you back in time.

There’s a huge amount of wood involved in this project. Notice the walls that are covered with tree stumps. The furniture is also made of wood and this contributes to the cozy ambience inside. The restaurant boasts tall ceilings and lots of windows but only on the facade. The interior is rather intimate, despite the dimensions. It’s decorated with magnificent chandeliers and glass stemware designed by Tjep Studio, an Amsterdam-based architecture and design firm.

There’s and a large pizza oven decorated with Bisazza tile mosaic and geometrical industrial containers sit near the oven holding the wood. It might not be a very sophisticated restaurant but its unpolished beauty that makes it individual. It’s simple and genuine. It’s also a very inviting and comfortable place where guests can feel independent while enjoying their favorite food. This unique idea – to make a cafe from scaffolding and shipping containers was brought to light by Paris studio 1024 Architecture. Les Grandes Tables is located on an island on the Seine in Paris – on the Ile Seguin, where architect Jean Nouvel is currently converting a car workshop into a museum. The project is an architectural combination between an agricultural greenhouse, a barge and a timber-frame house covered beneath a see-through umbrella.

The restaurant, which serves 100% organic food prepared by star chef Arnaud Daguin, draws heavily from the theme of rebuilding: the essence is essentially a sky-scraping basket of unfinished wood fiber insulation suspended by a pitched, scaffold-like construction auspicious squirrel red shipping containers. Elevated amidst the scaffolding structure is an oriented strand board box, which houses the first floor restaurant. A staircase at the front of the building leads visitors up to this dining room, whilst a lead space below is used for informal events and parties.

Known now the haute cuisine it serves and for the brilliant parties that it hosts. The cafe seems incorporated in the scaffold material. It has an area of 300m2 and the chef that was hired to prepare the extravagant types of food is Arnaud Daguin. The materials used were: wood fibre panels, containers besides scaffolding parts. The technological enhancements incorporated in the cafe allow lighting effects for parties or other types of events. Illuminated with LED lights, the restaurant projects the sensationalism of a stadium at night, presenting itself as a glittering gem in a “garden of foreshadowing”.

Paris architects Nadau Lavergne have completed a round wooden theater and matching circular restaurant for a campsite in the south of France. The campsite of La Rive is located in the Landes, bordered on the west by Lake Biscarosse. The site is characterized by a flat-type heath pine forest. A strip trees surrounded the beach and works as a visual screen and it saves the natural landscape around it. Zigzagging columns support the projecting facade of the eight metre-high theatre, creating a surrounding arcade that shelters the entrance.

The concept is to build a small piece of architecture, a cabin, perhaps a nest, on high, at the top of a cliff, on a monument, on a public building, it doesn’t matter where but in a resplendent location and with an original and spectacular view. The idea is to create a restaurant that offers its clients an enchanting, unique atmosphere with sophisticated dishes cooked in Electrolux kitchens. The idea is to keep it open for six months and then change location on top of important monuments and amazing locations, change city, nation, continent and reinstate this restaurant-type object on some other roof for new surprises, in addition menus, new clients.


The project showcases architecture, luxurious kitchen design, the city and the chefs in a unique way. Designed by Park Associati for Electrolux, the mobile restaurant is lightweight and covered in a white, laser-cut, aluminum skin that works to maximize daylight and views while reducing solar heat gain.  The Cube by Electrolux offers guests wonderful, individualizing food experiences. The 140 sq meter restaurant is divided between the open dinning area and a 50 sq meter terrace. Inside the kitchen is open to the dinners so they can see the food prepare and the large dining table disappears after dinner when it is raised into the ceiling to make more space for lounging and after dinner socializing. The materials are highly innovative eco-sustainability and energy saving, as well as constantly reusable. The Cube in Milan will be open until April 26, 2012.
