Located in the center of the city’s cultural complex, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art is one of the biggest museums in Israel. The museum houses a comprehensive collection of classical and contemporary art, a sculpture garden and a youth wing. Opened as early as 1932, before the state of Israel was even founded, the museum moved to its current location in 1971 and a sculpture garden was established in 1999. Tel Aviv Museum of Art holds a wide selection of works and offers an interesting representation of Israeli art and culture.

Situated on the west side the very lovely Laleh Park in the center of the capital, Tehran, the Museum of Contemporary Art is surrounded by 7000 sq. m of sculpture park, in which sculptures by renowned international and Iranian artists are on display. The Park is home to works by a number of the world’s leading sculptors, including “Capricorn” by Max Ernst; “The Prickly Pear” by Alexander Calder; “The Reclining Figure” by “Henry Moore” and more. The museum is considered to have the largest collection of valuable Western modern art outside of Europe and the United States.

Located in the area of Cairo called Mar Girgis, where many of the oldest Coptic churches and Jewish synagogues can be found, the Coptic Museum is a small museum hosting the world’s largest collection of Coptic Christian artwork. Founded by Marcus Simaika Pasha in 1910, the museum displays the history of Coptic Christianity in Egypt from its beginnings to the present day. It is a significant aspect of Egyptian history as its emergence marked the end of pagan religion and the birth of Islam in Egypt.

Nestled in Greenbelt Park in the heart of Makati City, the Philippines, Ayala Museum is considered one of the leading cultural institutions of Philippine art and culture. It displays the finest collections of dioramas of Philippine history and works of renowned Filipino painters. Established by Filipino abstract painter and one of the premier multimedia artists in the country – Fernando Zobel, the museum was opened in 1967 but the current building was inaugurated in September 2004 and was designed by Leandro V. Locsin and Partners.

This is an art museum sited at the top of a hill overlooking industrial Toyota City, in central Japan. The city – home of the popular automobile company is known as a “city of industry and cultural communication”. Housed in modern building constructed by Yoshio Taniguchi, who also renovated the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, the museum displays collection and permanently exhibits of modern and contemporary art, designs and crafts, both domestic and internationally.

Located in Shibuya, Tokyo, the museum opened in September 1990. Designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta, it is known for its unique ways of presenting contemporary visual arts. The Watari Museum of Contemporary Art stands together with the Mori Arts Center and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa as one of the major institutions in Japan and in Asia.

Located in Tokyo’s Hatsudai, Tokyo Opera City is a large cultural community comprising three zones focusing on the arts, business and commercial amenities. Opened in the cultural complex in September 1999, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery has its own permanent collection as well as operating as a changing exhibition gallery. This is a cultural center  showcases a variety of events in addition to the usual gallery offerings. Fashion, design and architecture from artists both Japanese and international are featured here for the last four years.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography is the only museum in Japan devoted to photography and imagery. Occupying a four-floor building in one corner of Ebisu Garden Place, in southwest Tokyo, it houses the largest number of photographs and images/video within the country. The museum operates a year-round programmed of about 20 events, including individual exhibitions of celebrated photographers, exhibitions of original designs and exhibitions of the work of up-and-coming artists.

Located in the southern outskirts of Sapporo, the Sapporo Art Park is 40 hectare outdoor art museum exhibits sculptures including “Way to the hidden garden”, a large installation by the Israeli sculptor Dani Karavan. Covering a quite large area consisting of various sections, the park presents art in a more open and accessible environment.
