The state rolling in money it can never spend

“The Sultan of Brunei” became a byword for someone who’s filthy rich. But do we know much about this Sultan apart from the oddfacts theh Michael Jackson or Celine Dion have performed at his birthday parties for the floor wade of one million US Dollars, or that he owns the world’s most garantuan car collection, or maybe that he gave order for Miss America to be “supplied” to him. Even less we know about this miniature coutry, so abundant in oil. The tiny country consists of two mini territories wedged into the Malaysian part of the Island of Borneo. It is actually easily accessible by air, with regular flights from all of Asia, London and Dubai.

We have the pleasure of introducing to you the empire Hotel, which has some intriguing history. Despite the fact that the Sultan of Brunei is the richest of all, it is actually his youngest brother Prince Jefri, the ex-minister of finance and manager of the family company Amedeo, who is the big spender. He has 2,000 cars in his collection and even his toilette brushes are made of pure gold. Naturally, only someone like Prince Jefri would name his 50 meter yacht “Tits” and her motor boats “Nipple1″ and “Nipple 2″, respectively. So, with the entire Sultan’s cash at hand, the man decided to build the biggest and most luxurious congress center in the world. Construction works cost 1.1 billion dollars and when the Sultan got wind of it, he sacked his brother from his ministerial position and ordered the congress center to be returned into a hotel so that it can at least finance its maintenance. The Empire Hotel is being advertised as tge Asian Burj Al Arab, however some pompousness aside, it would only be rated 4 stars. Hence the overnight price of 100 dollars. It is a good idea that there is an information leaflet about the details in each room, for example, that the walls are covered with Italian marble, the carpet is made of finest New Zealand wool, and the cutlery and tableware came from the world renown manufacture Asprey – the British Royal Family jewelers.

Brunei attractions: The old mosque looks like it materialized from a fairy-tale and I honesty believe it must be the prototype of the palace in the Aladdin animated feature. The domes are covered, as a matter of course, with 24-carat gold and the mosque itself is surrounded by an artificial lagoon. The other mosque is the “new”. One can tell straight away that no funds have been spared to built it with its colossal size, architecture, splendor and color fountain. The Sultan’s palace is not open to public. it is larger than the Vatican and its construction swallowed a whole 35 million US Dollars, with its 1788 rooms, 200 bathrooms, and a banquet hall with a capacity of 4000 people.
