The Wolwedans Dunes Lodge is set in the heart of the magnificent NamibRand reserve. Perched on top of a dune plateau, this lodge boasts some of Namibia‘ most dramatic and beautiful desert scenery. Wolwedans means “where the wolves dance” in Afrikaans. Offering the nature-loving individual a wonderful desert experience, Wolwedans is the perfect base to discover this unique and diverse desert habitat.

Wolwedans Dunes Lodge has nine spacious chalets on stilts with corrugated iron roofs. The building style combines wooden structures with large canvas blinds, and windows that open up to the desert beyond. This reflects the ambiance of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. Each suite has its own en-suite shower and toilet that leads onto a private veranda with magnificent desert views. There is a number of sundowner decks, a swimming pool, a fireplace, tea deck, a library, wine cellar and two dining rooms.

Activities are many and can be enjoyed on foot, by car, or from the air. The scenic drives in open Land Rovers, and nature walks with experienced resident guides that will introduce their guests to fascinating wonders of the desert. Also, enjoy hot-air ballooning, scenic plane flights, hiking and mountaineering. You also should do picnics in the wild, sundowners on the dunes and dinners by candlelight.
