“Little Paris of the North”

Situated in the middle of North Jutland, Aalborg is the fourth largest town in Denmark. Founded by the Vikings, this is a lively city offers lots of fun and exciting experiences for the young as well as the not so young. If you take a walk down the pedestrian area you will find that there is a great atmosphere and a lot of fine old buildings. This is a city full of life and charm – both day and night. There is a variety of tourist attractions and sights plus many exciting activities and events.

Aalborg features many beautiful buildings and restored old houses, some of them you can only enjoy from the outside, others you can get inside and then there are some which are made into in historical museums. Tourists can know much about the region’s culture by visiting museums such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Historical Museum.

The old centre of the city of Aalborg has a network of pedestrian areas lined with shops, cafes, discotheques and almost 300 restaurants, where you can find classic Danish cuisine and exiting ethnic specialities. In the newer parts can be found charming parks, such as Møllepark, from the highest point of which there is a view of the greater part of the town. Aalborg Zoo is the second biggest in Scandinavia with about 1600 exciting animals from all over the world.
