Stands around the River Leine the medieval city of Hannover is an important industrial and commercial center in Germany. It may not be one of the biggest or most popular cities however, there is something worth seeing. There are beautiful zoological gardens and royal extensive parks worth visiting. Created in 1666, the unique Royal Herrenhausen Gardens are a real treat for visitors to the state capital. You can enjoy a variety of stylistic orientations, baroque horticulture in the French style, the English landscaped garden and the botanical garden. The Hanover Zoo is one of the most spectacular and best zoos in Europe. The zoo consists of several theme areas: Sambesi, Meyers Farm, Gorilla-Mountain, Jungle-Palace, and Mullewapp. In the year of 2010 the Hanover Zoo had over 1.6 million visitors.

There are a huge diverse of museums in Hannover offers from 20th century art treasures to local history, from the Ancient Egyptians and antiquity to caricature. The Sprengel Museum, the Kestner Museum and the Lower Saxony State Museum are firm favourites with visitors to Hannover.
