Mansion 1878
This magnificent two storey Santorini Mansion was built in 1878, designed in the typical traditional style. It is situated in the middle of the charnmyvillage of Megalochori.
This is one of two Mansions in the portfolio that was once owned by one of the most powerful families on the island. At the turn of the century the first floor would have been occupied by the family with the ground floor serving as the winery and cellar. The Vinsanto dessert wine produced was exported to Russia, where it was used by the Russian Orthodox Church for Holy Communion. Unfortunately, this all came to an end with the Russian Revolution which had a big impact on the wealth of families in this once flourishing village.
