Built in 1579, The Porta Imperiale in Sabbioneta, North Italy was amended in the first half of the nineteenth  century  with the construction of the gable  top, which replaced  the original lodge on pillars, similar to that of Porta Vittoria.

It ‘s the newer of the two gates of the city, located to the east.
