Dance Center by 3LHD

The City of Zagreb, Croatia decided to raise the space for new cultural facilities and Croatian architects 3LHD have converted an old cinema “Lika” into a big dance centre. Called “Zagreb Dance Center”, the building accommodates around 40 local dance troops.

Things to do – Ice Skating

Where better to give ice skating a try than at Lee Valley Ice Center, the regional center of excellence for London and the South East England. Public skating sessions are available to suit all ages and abilities. There’s seating for up to 800 spectators and the Ice House Café where you can sit back and watch the fun if you don’t fancy skating. Sessions include: general open skating, family and friends skating, Friday disco nights, special themed events.

Three Mills Island

 

Three Mills Island has been an important area for both agriculture and industry since the Saxon times (first noted in the Doomsday Book which indentified eight mills in the area). The House Mill closed due to heavy bombing in the area in 1941-42 and the Clock Mill continued until 1952. The island includes the Grade I listed House Mill, believed to be the largest tidal mill in the world, the reconstructed Miller’s House and Grade II listed Clock Mill. The latter is part of 3 Mills Studios. Guided tours are available on Sundays and at other times by appointment.
