Forum Homini Hotel

This is a wonderful 14 roomed boutique hotel located in South Africa. Most of the hotel is submerged under concrete roofs covered in natural veld grasses; one enters the complex through what is experienced as a cleft in the rock; many of the walls of the hotel are faced with stone gathered from the site itself. At the same time, the wooden beams and decking of the restaurant area simulate an archeological landscape, marking the land for reference purposes.

At Forum Homini, there are plenty of sculpture and decoration to construct the identity of place. Sculptures by metal artist Marco Cianfanelli, sandstone carvings by Dave Roussouw, a Paul Du Toit mural, ceramics by Peter Mthombeni and furniture by Christel Antonites, all identify the hotel with the four million year history of its site.

The restaurant of the hotel is one of the Top 10 restaurans in South Africa for the 4th year running. The hotel has an excellent service to the patrons of Forum Homini hotel & roots restaurant. Forum Homini is situated on Letamo Game Farm, a unique are in Gauteng. This location comprises of a few habitats such as Savannah, Bushveld, Acacia forest, Natural Wetlands, Koppies, Riverine habitat, Rocky outcrops and Dams. Bird life is abundant and includes various species such as Owls, Hawks, Eagles, Fish Eagle, Geese, Kingfishers, Bee Eaters to name a few. Over 160 species have been spotted on Letamo Game Farm. Around the hotel there are small walkways which used an abundance of endemic plants (140 species to be exact) that naturally occur in the area to create a unique effect.
