Try on a Tudor gown and be part of the hustle and bustle during the preparations for Henry’s wedding to Kateryn Parr. Join the busy Tudor court in Henry’s newly re-presented State Apartments. Marvel at the breathtaking grandeur of these rooms including the Great Hall and Great Watching Chamber.
Henry VIII’ Kitchens
This is your chance to explore the fascinating, practical side of royal life in Henry’s enormous kitchens, the most extensive surviving 16th century kitchens in Europe today. Smell the boiling beef, hear the bubbling cauldrons and feel the heat of the fires.

Henry VIII wasn’t the only monarch to leave his mark on Hampton Court. In the 17th century, William III and Mary II commissioned Christopher Wren to transform the palace in the elegant baroque fashion. However, Wren’s grand designs were never completed, leaving a palace of two halves: one Tudor, one baroque. Today, you can marvel at the opulent King’s and Queen’s ceremonial Apartments and wander through the comparative intimacy of the Georgian Private Apartments.
