Riga Guide
Riga is the largest city in the Baltic States and a capital city of Latvia. With more than 800 years history the city offers the finest collections of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe. Mixes a medieval centre and a modern atmosphere, the city has so much to offer from medieval castles and small charm streets to clean nature and friendly local people.
Now I’m presenting you a list of major attractions in Riga:
1. Jurmala is a favorite holiday destination that offers sandy beaches, sand dunes, small seaside towns and resorts, stretches 30km along the coast from Riga.
2. Riga Motor Museum reveals a collection of over 100 vehicles, which includes the former wheels of such renowned car buffs as Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev and East German dictator Erich Honecker.
3. Museum of the Occupation - The museum chronicles fifty one years of Latvia’s occupation, by the Soviets and Socialist Germans. Archives include documents, photographs, and written and oral histories.
4. House of the Blackheads - The house honors the earlier merchant guilds of Riga. It was destroyed during World War II and later reconstructed.
5. Dome Cathedral - It established in 1211 and major spot is the catedral’s colossal organ that has 6,828-pipe glory.
