Abdul Gafoor Mosque
The Abdul Gafoor Mosque is known by the variant names. Located in Singapore, the original building was built in the year 1846 and it was the religious center of the Muslim mechants and horse-trainers. In 1979 the mosque was officially announced as a national monument. Directed towards Mecca, the most sacred place for the Muslims, Abdul Gafoor Mosque has recently been restored.
The Abdul Gafoor Mosque features the sun-dial decorating the main entrance. It has 25 rays decorated with Arabic calligraphy denoting the names of 25 chosen prophets and it is the only one of its kind in the Islamic world.
