Nagoya Castle

The castle is located in city of Nagoya, Aichi prefecture, Japan and it is considered as one of the most beautiful castles in the Land of the Rising Sun. Its roof is decorated with golden tiger-headed dolphin creatures have become symbolic of Nagoya Castle.

With a six-story tower with five external levels, Nagoya Castle features a unique architecture style. The castle was constructed in 1612 and in 1930 it was the first castle designated as a National Treasure. Unfortunately, In May 1945, during the air raids on Nagoya in the Second World War, the castle was destroyed by fire. The City of Nagoya is currently under reconstruction and should be completed in 2018.
