Amanfayun in China
Located in a beautifully secluded valley, Amanfayun Hotel in Hangzhou,China is embraced by tea fields, natural forest, quaint villages and five remarkable Buddhist temples. Built in a traditional Chinese village style, the hotel provides 47 dwellings,some of which date back over 100 years. This intimate retreat is just a 20-minute drive amidt bamboo and tree-lined avenues from the core of the city of Hangzhou.It was depicted by Marco Polo as “The city of heaven”. Hangzhou is still known as the most dazzling China’s city with its serene West Lake, countless pagodas, historic temples, botanical gardens and wide wetland areas.
Placed in the heart of the hotel area is the most signifiant of the original structures. Two stately courtyard houses dating back to the 1800s,skillfuly connected to become the resort’s main meeting point. Known as Fayun Place, it is only accessible to guests of Amanfayun. The lower level includes the property’s guest assistants, adept at introducing Hangzhou’s many attractions and a beautiful relaxing area where light traditional snacks and tea are offered. The upper level houses a Cigar Room and informal sitting and reading rooms.
