This is the remarkable boarddwalk on the beach of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro in Brasil.DEsigned and build by the brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx it is planned in accordance with the aesthetic canons of the artistic vanguard, especially Cubism and abstractionism, creating a new and modern principles for international landscape design.
Burle Marx was a botanist as a landscape architect, a great self-taught artist and one of the world’s leading experts on bromeliads, the plant family to which the pineapple belongs.More than 50 plant species have been named for him, and he traveld regularly to the Amazon and Southeast Asia to search for unique and interesting plants that he could cultivate in his home garden and then use in some of his projects.
