Kunst Haus Wien
The Museum Hundertwasser presents a unique cross-section of the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser featuring paintings, graphic works, applied art, architectural designs and examples of the artist’s ecological commitment. The Museum Hundertwasser is part of KUNST HAUS WIEN, which was established in 1991 on the basis of the Hundertwasser’s philosophy and artistic principles. The architectural remodelling of the former Thonet furniture factory was effected in accordance with Hundertwasser’s own designs.

The Hundertwasser House is one of Viennas most visited sight. A residential house by the ideas of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Designed by the Architects Josef Krawina and Peter Pelikan. In the year 1983 the foundation stone was laid and on 17th of February 1986 the house was handed over.

Many of the museum items are made exclusively for the KUNST HAUS WIEN Museumshop according to original designs by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Hundertwasser set great store by the meticulous implementation of his guidelines. Brilliant colours in a wide variety of hues were very important to him.
